I booked 6 nights for a romantic November '09 trip 4/28/09. Trip was paid for and confirmed. On 6/28/09 I was informed that the Lazy Parrot had cancelled my reservation. It took some doing but I finally found out they cancelled me to allow a wedding party to book the entire resort. Money talks....customer service walks...I've never been treated like... more

Looks are deceiving, judging from the street entrance you wouldn't believe how big and pretty this place is. The place is a tourist haven, but as a local: even though this place caters mainly to tourist, I would recommend it to other fellow locals especially as a romantic or relaxing getaway plus you get a lot for you buck. You... more

We scheduled our vacation to Rincon and The Lazy Parrot after winning a free 2-night stay at a travel expo. Tacking on an additional 6 nights, our stay at "The Parrot" was 9 days/8nights of nothing but complete relaxation and enjoyment. Chock full of character, this place is designed as a maze of walkways through gardens and grottos, with hidden... more

The hotel was quirky and imaginative, full of parrot paraphernalia. The staff were friendly and helpful. The open pool sits right between the restaurant and the bar - dinner was pricey, but the food was delicious and very filling. There are some reggae nights, which are loud (and fun!), but they wind down by 11 pm. An extra bonus is... more

My friend and I traveled to Puerto Rico and the entire trip centered around the Lazy Parrot. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was always clean with fresh towels/linens. Small bathroom with few hooks/bars to hang wet towls/swimsuits on. There is a microwave and refrigerator in each room, we went to the local grocery and bought stuff... more

We had a pleasant stay at the Lazy Parrot last year and particularly liked the hotel's policy that guests were asked to sign a statement that they agreed to observe an after 11:00PM quiet period. The restaurant and bar also honored this policy. So we were extremely disappointed when we returned this year to find that on 3 consecutive nights... more

The night we got there was weekly reggae night at the bar which obviously is managed separately from hotel - the noise vibrated the walls until about 11:20. Next morning the hotel desk assured me that it is the only noisy night of the week, and that all noise is strictly curtailed after 11PM. Wrong! Found out Monday is surfer... more

Yes, we have a weekly reggae night during the high season which ends at 11pm when our restaurant closes. On this occasion the night was busy and the band played til 11:20 when it was brought to the restaurant owner’s attention that it was past 11pm, as the guest mentioned. This week being Spring Break we offered additional nights of...

Great hotel, remote location, lovely pool and restaurant. The only thing I'd say is that there were a few too many young gringos hanging around acting slightly sophmoric and grooving with their MP3s. Staff is very laid back, casual atmosphere in general. Staff has good recommendations for local restaurants 5 minutes away. Tasty juices at continental breakfast with pastries. more

Made reservations 4/13/08 and was assured that both bars and restaurants would be open for business. Lies! Both bars and both restaurants were closed completely. When we asked them why, they said that they had decided there wasn't enough business to bother keeping them open. When we asked them why they didn't e-mail us with the change in plans, they... more

This reservation was originally booked for October when our restaurants are open and later was re-scheduled for September when our restaurants are closed for maintenance and repair. This restaurant schedule is the same every year and posted on our website. Upon check-in, after realizing the error in communication, we offered an upgrade to our superior poolside room which was deemed...

We reserved a room for three evenings but only stayed two. The showers are 'solar' - a container of water on the roof top, not a solar panel. Needless to say, there was not enough warm water for all hotel guests or at all in the mornings. Our room was basically in the entry to a bar and restaurant with... more

The Lazy Parrot Staff strives to accommodate our guests in every way possible however if we are not notified of problems we can't fix them. No where in our documentation of this stay were we advised of any problems with hot water, noise levels or bugs. Our hotel is noted for our green practices. We have a total of 20...
