We took 2 of the 6 guest rooms. Design and ergonomics was a highlight, with a nod to the original building and to Mazzorbo/Burano style. The staff were a delight and the freshness of the breakfast another highlight of the stay. The short walk to Burano was convenient and increased the eating and shopping options slightly. We tried several restaurants... More

An outstanding experience. We visited for lunch. The service was simply outstanding... The food was beyond anything we had anticipated. Incredible flavors, use of herbs & vegetables grown on the property & the presentation divine. A MUST VISIT when in Venice!

I have visited Venissa 3 times since it opened. Situated on Mazzorbo it is a charming inn (6 rooms), expensive restaurant and vineyard. The rooms are very contemporary, Ikea style furnished, beds not very comfortable, and bathrooms very small with basins far too low. The showers are tiny despite there being room for them to be bigger. But, I forgive... More

The previous review I think is unfair. This is my second stay here and I can testify to the fact that this place is not a rip off, it is classy yet not expensive. It is not cheap either (it is not a B&B in the normal sense, it is elegant and chic. It is more like a very very... More

The vineyard and vegetable plots are a delight to wander round and a surprise that anyone can do so, given the elitist character of the hotel and restaurant. On a sunny day with the roses in bloom we were enticed to sit and have a glass. Trattoria Maddalena was closed for the day as was Cacciatoria (much improved) so lunch... More

Very small ( 6 rooms) boutique hotel in a quiet island 35 minutes to Venice. Rooms are large and very clean with great view. Central AC. Great restaurant on premises, but wide variety of dining on nearby Burano island. Friendly, very helpful English speaking personnel. Breakfast is included in the price. Water bus stops next to the hotel. Will stop... More

This is a great hotel away from the chaos of the centre of venice during summer. Good rooms, great breakfast with super fresh ingredients and a fresh juicing machine. Best fine dining meal experienced yet for dinner. Wonderful place, highly recommended..

This was a wonderful way to get away from the crowds of Venice for a few days. We stayed in one of the first-floor (second-floor to North Americans) rooms overlooking the water. Our room was outfitted with a stylish minimalism -- the furniture was handsome, whitewashed wood, and the bedsheets, curtains, even the towels, were a rich, heavyweight linen. The... More

This our fourth visit to Venice, illustrated another, darker aspect of life on the Veneto; la acqua alta. We stayed four nights at Venissa in the midst of a six night stay, during which time some areas across the lagoon recorded their highest ever water levels. We ended up as the only guests; the weather forcing others to cancel. At... More

We spent the most amazing long weekend at the Venissa Hotel, Mazzorbo. The rooms are elegant, comfortable and immaculately clean. The staff are wonderful and the restaurant is just fantastic. Everything we ate, breakfasts and dinner, fantastic. Mazzorbo is such a lovely tranquil place. A short work over the bridge and you are in Burano, fantastic for a stroll, some... More
