Spent one night here: not sure I could spend 2 nights due to sleep deprivation from noisy road that runs few feet outside letting rooms. Traffic ran intermittently all night and constantly from early hours. Even ear plugs (which Karen, the owner offers on arrival!) and windows closed made little difference- closed windows on hot night not good combination. Road... More

My husband and I spent a night here last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary as we had our reception here too. The food was fabulous as always and the staff pleasant and helpful. Our room was stunning, nicely decorated, not too fussy and spotlessly clean. The ensuite shower room was the same, with a huge shower cubicle. The bed... More

Personally I think the problem here is the pricing of the food is giving you much higher expectations than what is being served, drop it a pound or two and people will be shouting from the roof tops that your amazing value for money. The food is nice, Staff are very helpful and friendly.

Set right by the river with the sun shining, the location promised much and the food definitely delivered. We'd planned a rare family get-together for Sunday lunch and the whole experience was excellent. The place was bright, airy and spotlessly clean and the service was efficient and attentive. The food was delicious and we all left extremely satisfied. Just perfect.... More

Went to the Mermaid Inn for a meal celebrating a 50th birthday on a Sunday lunchtime, and frankly it was a truly outstanding meal. Made to feel very welcome by the staff and seated into the restaurant on the lovely round tables. The food was absolutely 1st class with numerous home-made deserts and freshly prepared starters on the menu, and... More

I ordered a ploughmans lunch albeit reluctantly after seeing the price £10.50. At that price I was expecting a very large plateful. It consisted of one slice of ham,two small pieces of cheddar cheese, half a bagette roll, three pickled onions, pickle and a portion of green salad. I would have thought it not very good value at half this... More

I recently visited the Mermaid Inn for a friends birthday party and was very impressed by the high standard of the food and service. All the staff were very friendly and accomodating to our large group. I would highly recommend the Mermaid Inn and will be certainly going back!

Great little place to stay. Slightly off the main road The website for the b&b does not do it justice. Rooms are comfortable and cosy, only beaten by the great quality breakfast all seeming to be of local origin Free wifi and plenty of power points available. Will defiantly be back!
