Mme. Remy welcomed us on a rainy afternoon - and we knew immediately we would be very comfortable in her chateau. She thought of just about everything we could possibly need to know, and showed us around the building and up to our huge room. Breakfast was served to accommodate our schedule - and she was willing to make restaurant... More

This is a really wonderful place for a relaxing break. It's beautiful, comfortable, stylish and original. Cathy is a mine of local information and provides such a warm sympathetic welcome. Palaja is a good base for exploring this lovely region which overflows with beautiful sites, awesome flavours and fascinating history.

Difficult to know where to start... - Maybe with the owners! The nicest people in the hotel ever... Very customer satisfaction oriented, a lot of good advice about what to visit and where to eat in the area. - The location is fantastic also: very nice building with fully refurbished rooms, very nice garden - Fantastic restaurant next door Three... We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Château de Palaja last fall ! The location is perfect for a visit of the old city of Carcassonne ( if you have a car) , the city of Narbonne , the Canal du Midi , the Châteaux du Cathare and the wineries of the Languedoc - Roussillon . The Château itself... More

We stayed at this Chateau de Palaja, in Palaja, Carcassonne, France, for a unique experience, and we were rewarded. The chateau is very well run and exceptionally clean and quaint. The proprietor was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming. Our room was quiet and well organized. The breakfast was the very best one could ever find in France. The dining area... More

Our family of four stayed here for two nights during the vacance scolaire in October. We wanted to visit Carcassone and also the dinosaur museum in Esperaza. We were very pleased w/ the grounds and the rooms and especially w/ the personalized care given by Mme. Remy. Since there were four of us we stayed in a larger room where... More

We stayed at Chateau de Palaja in September as a result of the good reviews on Tripadvisor. Although we didn't hire a car there was no problem in getting around using taxis and the hotel bikes. The welcome and service were both very warm and after four nights we really felt at home. The breakfast was excellent and although we... More

We picked this place as a consequence of reading other Tripadvisor reviews and it exceeded our expectations. It was great to stay in such a lovely and quiet location outside of a very touristy Carcassonne. Set in its own grounds the whole ambience of the place makes you feel relaxed. Our greeting was as warm as you could wish for... More

Our biggest regret is we only stayed 1 night. A short drive from the motorway, and 10 minutes from the castle, and in terrible rain, a very warm welcome from Isabel, who shared some experience with us about her trip to Australia as she showed us to our room. Looking out a stunning old circular window, we may have had... More

We stayed one night in September 2014 and wished we had booked to stay longer. The aesthetics suited us - the style and colour of the decor were tasteful. The house is old and has been renovated with care. Attention to detail was evident in everything - not least the breakfast where every cheese and every piece of fruit was... More
