Stayed here with my travel group for 2 nights, and had a blast. Found a few bugs, but hey, it's the jungle. Our group was mostly in the cabins along the water, but a few of us lucked out and were in the B4 complex. 2 separate enclosed loft bedrooms and balcony with attached bathrooms on the main level. We... More

Stayed in the tijax hotel recently and was very disappointed . When we first arrived we were very happy with it although a bit run down it's different to other hotels . We rented 4 double rooms . First of all the keys for the rooms where impossible to lock ! These should be changed !!! When we arrived for... More

All cabins have their own individual names. My cabin was Búho (owl in Spanish), and I absolutely LOVED it! When I opened the door and stepped inside all I kept thinking was - this is more of a honeymoon suite! I was very excited to have it all to myself. The place was spotless, clean and modern. The A/C worked... More

My husband and I really enjoyed the cabana rooms and that is in a forested area. Lots of bugs but our room had AC which was absolutely awesome. I think not all rooms had ac so not sure how those were but our room was clean, neat, beds had mosquito nets. Not a lot of sink or counter space but... More

We arrived a day earlier than initially planned and were greeted by the staff as they were able to offer us a couple of their more modern cabins. These cabins have a concrete base, beautiful bedroom with adjacent bathroom. AC and insect repellent worked well, we slept very well. The restaurant offers a decent variety of food at reasonable prices.... More

I have stayed at Hacienda Tijax 4 times over the past several years and I love it. The location is great for those who want a memorable natural setting, with the river on one side and the bungalows amidst the jungle. There are a variety of bungalows, and the best ones ("Cabin Plus") are very comfortable with good A-C and... More

Lucy's guided hike through the jungle and rubber plantation behind the lodge is not to be missed! The trail, rope bridges, and lookout tower are wonderfully engineered. Then there's nature and wildlife. And a beautiful swimming hole about midway. Again. Don't miss.

Spending 7 nights here...a sweet A-frame cabin, not too close to others. Finally, after the last 2 places we have been, HOT water showers! Very good housekeeping services, and the staff are friendly, helpful, and sweet. I took a long hike (2 hours 15 minutes) on the property with guide Lucy - she was informative about the plants, trees, and... More

Individual Lodges on river side. Felt like upmarket camping. Lovely beds with canopy mosquito nets. Lovely on suite bathroom. Looked fairly new. Nicely set out so not on top of each other. Open sided large dining room. Beautiful Flowers on the tables. Downsides, it was cold on our visit so very cold at night, had to ask for blankets for... More
