Just spent there two nights and it was lovely. The staff is really nice and welcoming. I stayed in dorms and although its a walk to the bathroom it was worth it. The owner Jonathan is an easy going man and it was nice that he just opened a tab and was not stressed about payment. I enjoyed the stay... More

I stayed at Hotel Perico for three days during the spring. The place is only accessible by boat and the setting is very rustic. The rooms are cabins with hammocks. It is definitely not a party hostel. I went with four of my friends, and we are all in our early twenties. We were going to bed super early because... More

We stayed there for three nights in a private bungalow. We had a wonderful time at Casa Perico. The owners were very helpful and friendly, the rooms were clean and the food was excellent from breakfast to dinner! I recommend this place to everyone.

To stay here was the WORST CHOICE OF MY ENTIRE HOLIDAY. The rooms are not only very hot and sticky, but also full of moskitos, as the moskito nets are perforated. It was not clean at all as bugs were crawling on the floor. The silence in the living area was interrupted by loud rock music played by the owner.... More

I selected Casa Perico based on their write-up in a travel guide but it surprised me when I arrived and discovered it was actually in the middle of a swamp! Not to worry, my stay was actually pretty insect free, despite finding all beds came with mosquito nets (in various states of repair). I'm afraid I found the Swiss owners... More

The swiss owners of the hostel are friendly. three friends and totally diferent character. One owner is extremly friendly and obliging. the second is really nice and helpful too. One guy is more lazy and not enthusiastic at all. I got a warm welcome in rio dulce when I was waiting for my pick up boat. It's a realaxing place... More

We (couple, 40 & 50 years old) stayed at Casa Perico for one night in December 2013. We paid just $17 for a private room. Our room was clean and large; there was space for four people. The beds were comfortable, though the sheets were old and one of the mosquito nets was torn. One wall was half screen, though... More

My friend and I just stayed one night there, I can not agree more with the above comments regarding the horrible customer service. To start off, we called and the owner said he will send a boat to pick us up right away - it took an hour of wait, it was unsettling and we saw 20-30 boats came and... More

A fabulous hostel! It's very clean and welcoming with a variety of delicious food (the swiss sausage is particularly yummy). The homely hostel - with tea and coffee on tap - is set on stilts above the water and the bustling city is accessible by boat. There are free kayaks to use at your leisure and excellent wifi. What's particularly... More

Dont get yourself the illusion this is a quiet place, only during the day. I didn't feel welcome and every question seemed to much. No warm welcome, no information or just some small talk. On the contrary; I had to search the place to find someone to order breakfast or to get me to the dock by boat. They tried... More
