Our family needed a place to stay for 2 weeks while we waited for our rental to be ready and Checkers was just perfect for it. Location close to everything north shore with excellent restaurants on our doorstep (kids loved Terry Hills Tavern). The room was very large and allowed us to "self cater" to a large extent with some... More

After using the swimming facilities at this hotel, my whole family became seriously ill. I notified the hotel my family had vomiting, severe fever and flu like symptoms and they stated they would check the water quality! There were many more families swimming in the pool after notification whilst my family were bedridden. 24hr incubation period, still unwell four days... More

There was a misunderstanding with some overpricing on our room. Staff at the desk were unable to work it out.The manager was brought in and proceeded to handle the situation in an aggressive and accusatory manner. The matter was seemingly sorted with a promise of a refund at checkout. However, we were later visited in our room by the manager... More

No gym, sauna not functioning, spa not working, the only thing that's good is the room and bathroom. But we came in to the room, a musky smell greeted us. No food or room service on a boxing day. Swim pool is not very inviting. Nice and clean bedsheets.

Stayed here for one night due to location being close to family. The hotel looked worn down...a relic of 20-30 years ago, at least that was the feeling. The outside pool/spa/sauna area looked dirty and uninviting. Most of the rooms (in the area I stayed) were accessed by a long corridor and had the general feeling of a roadside motel.... More

New owners/new Management please regularly keep pool clean and the spa needs a complete clean out and possibly a complete reno. Sign on corner of accommodation building is chipped, faded, mouldy and covered in cobwebs ..... Everywhere outside there are signs of lack of maintenance and while staff are friendly, available and helpful the poor things are 'winging it'. However,... More

We have stay here lots of times before and found the service wonderful and the rooms large and always clean. But sadly it is now under new management. We stay here for 2 nghts back in August and the first thing we notice was you no longer get Hot chocolate or biscults which is fine. Also the coffee and tea you... More

Rooms were large and well appointed. The doors were really noisy to open and close and you could hear Everyone on the floor open and close their doors which is really annoying when trying to get little ones to sleep. Breakfast was great, but all in all, not amazing, but ok. Strange location not really close to anywhere

The room we had was on the second floor. Recently renovated and large. The shower left a lot to be desired and the company who installed the screens should be sued. There is no way to shower without flooding the bathroom! There are minor maintenance issues (like really squeaky doors). We didn't eat there and didn't use the pool although... More
