We stayed two nights here and found the resort to be clean and tidy, the rooms were very good and adequate for our stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was excellent and a great price, we had the checkers big breakfast. the only downside was that the pool, spa & sauna were out of action during our... My friend and I visited as it was not too far from the beach (by car) and the breakfast had been recommended. Everything was okay but just not quite great. The recommended breakfast was somewhat disappointing and also expensive.

My wife and I have just stayed again at Checkers Resort as we visit family and friends on the Northern Beaches. Its location and value for the Northern Beaches of Sydney is hard to beat. We do hire a car so no transport issues, easy to get anywhere you want from this location. We have always found the staff super... More

I'd been to Checkers before, with poor results, but I was invited by a host who wanted me to attend a Terry Hills meeting - so we had breakfast and it was just implausibly lousy. What they call a Continental Breakfast was coffee made in an urn from instant, yes, instant commercial coffee, and stewed for a while. Theybhad water... More

We stayed 2 nights in room number 7 which was on the ground floor. We didn't have any problems with foot traffic as other people have stated. But it was very cold and windy so there wasn't too many people out and about. The room was one of their family rooms and had 2 single beds and a queen bed. I... More

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times and found it only average (at best). We asked for a quiet room and they would allocate room 4 downstairs, which was really annoying because it has a lot of foot traffic from people walking past. The place overall seems to be frequenlty busy with conferences but was close to... More

Checkers promotes itself as a resort/convention centre, but it's a MOTEL! It's isolated off Mona Vale Road - you must have a car (again, it's a motel). The food they offer at breakfast is pathetic - cereal, bread rolls, coffee is instant coffee in a big pot, orange juice isn't juice but a powder substitute. WiFi is $5 an hour... More

We stayed at Checkers for 3 nights over New Year's Eve and appreciated the quiet rooms. The queen size beds were great...nice and firm thankfully (as I can't handle soft, saggy mattresses.) We had a room of 2 queen beds for our family. One queen and 2 singles would have worked better, but this wasn't available when I was booking... More

Though dated in some ways Checkers is the perfect place to stay within easy reach of Sydney's northern beaches. The rooms are spacious the buffet breakfast is exceptional and the staff extremely friendly. No paintings or wall hangings adorned the walls which created an austere effect. Otherwise perfect in every way and great value.

The rooms are fantastic! Very big ( 3 room) and comfortable. The bathroom is also hugh. We just arrived and the staff on the reception was really friendly! The bathroom and room was totally clean, no problems at all. We wanted to have dinner in the evening. The food was good, the location of the restaurant wasn't really nice. A... More
