I have taken two large groups to the Wolfe Inn for lunch this week: forty three on Monday and thirty eight on Sunday. On both occasions, we can only praise the service and quality of lunch. Even more remarkable is the fact that, even with such large groups, we were all served at the same time and with food that... More

We ate here on Friday - I was glad I booked because it was (justly) busy. Service was excellent, the food was really good and we loved the atmosphere. A great place to treat an elderly relative the night before a family wedding, which was our goal! Thank you so much.

Enjoyed one evening meal & a comfortable overnight stay with an excellent breakfast at this immaculately kept hostelry. Owners & all staff could not have been more obliging - a very happy crew. Great value pub grub freshly made & delivered with a smile - what more could you want?

We arrived for dinner with friends having booked a table 7 or 8 days previously and were told our table was in the busy bar not the restaurant and when surprise was expressed by me I was told in no uncertain terms that we were" lucky to have that table" ..Not the sort of attitude that we are used to... We moved to wolfscastle only 3 weeks ago and have eaten there several times since we moved in and never had a bad meal. The previous reviewer from the person who said he was ' in the trade' I find incredible. My husband has been a chef for over 20 years and we have run our own pub too so... More

Went to what we thought was a good place for a meal. Staff very friendly on arrival and showed us to our table. First impressions where how big the menu was and being involved in the trade knowing that it couldn't all be fresh. To start I had the duck and orange pate which was a bought in one, it... More

Pleasant enough building but the Sunday lunch was absolutely appalling, straight out of a nineteen seventies school canteen with terrible presentation. The ale was so cold you couldn't taste anything, both the white and rose wines were warm and the young staff, although pleasant clearly had little experience. To sum up: Chain pub blandness with no care.

Visited this lovely pub with my sister and her husband who have just moved to Wolf's castle. Received a very warm welcome from the manager and staff. Excellent meals all very well presented. large portions and very reasonably priced. Didn't have room for dessert. Couldn't ask for nicer surroundings. My idea of a village local. They also have guest rooms.... More

We had a lovely lunch at The Wolfe Inn today. It was buzzing with people on an average Thursday lunchtime. Pleasant service, seated quickly and we didn't have to wait long for our food. There is a fab budget menu -£6 for a meal with tea/coffee included and lots to choose from, very impressive. Cooked nicely and served with a... More

We had a very warm welcome and the hospitality continued throughout the evening. Excellent menu and all the food was first class. Would highly recommend to anyone who likes good traditional food and a homely welcome. Special thanks to Silv, Aled and Sandra. Wales at its best.
