While my husband stayed with the car to move it from blocking traffic in front of the hotel, I went into reception to check in. Convents naturally weren't designed for accommodating automobiles, but nevertheless there were many of them jockeying for the limit space available. Tempers were short. I asked the man at the desk were we could park so... More

Hotel in a former convent. Rooms are beautiful, wifi worked everywhere. The best breakfast we had in Spain - although very expensive, so if you can get a rate that includes breakfast, it is better. The hotel is a walking bridge away from Cuenca - so anyone who is afraid of heights, you should NOT stay here. For others, the... More

Such a unique location with outstanding views and an elegant and beautiful building. Very large room. Bed great; pillows and towels a bit thin but overall a great experience. Only problem is airconditioning doesn't start until June and room was a bit warm

Check-in was OK Parking was not good - a product of the location. But at a cost, a garage is available nearby (avoid the con-artist trying to charge for it, the check-in desk actually controls it) After going up to the room which was excellent we went down to the bar. There, we waited for 15 iminutes for service, for... More

What a fantastic location and view. A converted convent into a delightful hotel. The rooms were great. A large room with all modern conveniences. Friendly staff spacious common areas. Short walk to the bridge across the gorge and town. Our room windows opened out onto the central court. One of the better hotels we have stayed in Europe that is... More

Outstanding location right across hanging houses. Night view from Parador is stunning. It was worth spending more to get a room overlooking hanging houses. Old town is easily accessible from the Parador by beautiful iron bridge, it is worth spending time to stroll around. Especially view from hill is fantastic. The room was reasonably clean and well appointed. Wifi was... More

Cuenca, we found, received little more than a passing mention in most of our tour books. What an omission! Our visit to this gem of a town was one of the highlights of a recent trip to Spain. The Parador contributed greatly to our enjoyment. Elegant simplicity in a stunningly beautiful setting. The common spaces were impressive. I loved the... More

Paradors are always lovely to stay at and Cuenca parador is particularly stunning. Spent two nights here, very comfortable and the history all around is amazing. Service excellent and staff charming. My second stay here and I would go back. The parador is also spectacularly positioned with lovely views across the gorge including the hanging houses

The bull is the symbol of Spain but we think that Paradors should take over. Parador de Cuenca is such an example. It radiates peace and calmness surounded by the old part of Cuenca where we visited the Hanging Houses, the beautiful cathedral, the modern scientific museum and cosy eating places. We relaxed here 100%.

This parador is really lovely. Our room was warm, comfortable, spacious and had great views across the gorge and of the Casas Colgadas. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Cuenca itself is fascinating and the Museum of Abstract Art based in the Hanging Houses is worth a visit. The walk around the old town is lovely with fantastic photo ops! We... More
