The bull is the symbol of Spain but we think that Paradors should take over. Parador de Cuenca is such an example. It radiates peace and calmness surounded by the old part of Cuenca where we visited the Hanging Houses, the beautiful cathedral, the modern scientific museum and cosy eating places. We relaxed here 100%.

This parador is really lovely. Our room was warm, comfortable, spacious and had great views across the gorge and of the Casas Colgadas. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Cuenca itself is fascinating and the Museum of Abstract Art based in the Hanging Houses is worth a visit. The walk around the old town is lovely with fantastic photo ops! We... More

Outstanding location on a cliff overlooking the town across the gorge. Cuenca is interesting and an easy walk from the parador across a dramatic iron bridge. Get a room facing the hanging houses across the way if you can. The parador itself is a beautiful older building and not quite as polished and elegant as a couple of others where... More

Amazing location (best in town, by far) right accross the "hanging houses" with the best views. The hotel is a beautiful historical building (a old monastery) and it's worth spending some time just walking through it. The service is excellent; people helpful and amicable. The restaurant is also worth trying (specially the foie gras). Service there is quite good too.... More

We wanted to stay in a Parador, and Cuenca fitted our itinerary. Not only that but the location looks pretty good. So anyhow - the room was fantastic: large, well appointed, good heating system for the cold winter nights, great views. Some maintenance on little things would polish the impression up even more - things like the toilet not completely... More

The ones that already had an experience with Paradores in Spain do know that service is excellent, wonderful restaurants and all in nice/historical places. Well Cuenca is the one, that summarizes the spirit: wonderful location, close to downtown and with a unique view to "Casas Colgadas". Cozy rooms, with all amenities and comfort. Despite the cold outside no problems to... More

Dont pass Cuenca stop and take the time to look at the amazing haning houses, and take a stroke in the old City. Use the time to discover the Church ind the mittel of the town, whit houses leaning on each other, and the Eagels in the air

We stayed 1 night in a standard room without view. We tried to get a room with a view but unfortunately their bookings only allowed us a room facing an exterior wall. Nonetheless we very much enjoyed our stay. The setting of the parador on a gorge facing the cliffs of old town across the river is spectacular. This very... More

What an experience! After arriving in Spain, we rented a car and our first night had to be spectacular! So if you feel the same way, drive to Cuenca, east of Madrid. This old monastery sets over the gorge and river. To reach the old town, just across the gorge, You can walk over a suspended bridge ( not dangerous... More

We arrived late afternoon and our room had not been cleaned properly - very dusty, no drinking glasses and someone's toe nail clippings on the carpet by the bed! We had breakfast in our room - the coffee was cold (not even lukewarm) and there was no sugar on the tray. We had our room cleaned and although we hadn't... More
