Posado San Jose is hidden in the narrow laneways of Cuenca. It is a 14th century building nestled on the cliff face. When we opened the door to room 33, and placed the suitcase on the ground it rolled across the room hitting the wall on the opposite side. This was a visual reminder that these buildings have been here... More

The location is good in the old town, although help with where to park would be appreciated. The rooms are great; lots of character. The restaurant has a superb vista, but the meal we had was just decent.

More of a hotel than being classified as a B & B , this is a really great place to stay. Worth paying for the more expensive rooms to get balconies overlooking the gorge and the Parador opposite. Our room was quite spacious with a small sofa and armchair and had a little annexe room before going out onto the... More

We have mixed feelings about this place though would go back there if we are in Cuenca again. The owner has great taste in interior design and our room was wonderful with a great view. The mixed feelings comes from 2 aspects: the evening meal was over priced for what it was and the attitude of the waitress obviously has... More

The posad is a very special hotel. It's in a great location in el casco antiguo. You can get a room with a private bathroom and spectacular views. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I always dreamed of staying get. I guess some dreams come true.

The town of cuenca is a dream vacation with lots of sites and activities. Perched on the cliff is the posada. Wonderful location. And jaw dropping views. Our room was spotlessly clean and offered all we needed. We met the owner who originated in Canada like my wife and I. Needless to say, we had a lot to talk about.... More

This is a really pleasant hotel with good sized comfortable and clean rooms in an old building full of character very near the cathedral. Our room had a spectacular view of the Parador across the gorge. Friendly helpful staff and a good restaurant that was clearly very popular.

Posada de San Jose is our favorite hotel which we have to visit whenever in Spain! Many people have their favorite room in this hotel, and so do we. The location and the view is unique, looking down on the gore and the parador. The food is exciting and always developing, the service excellent. The hotel is from the 16th... More

My husband and I stayed in the magical Posada San José during our 10th anniversary trip to Spain. A historic building in a narrow, beautiful street in the mesmerizing town of Cuenca. You start by admiring its facade, it is beautiful and speaks of centuries-old history. What was once a monastery, and afterwards a children's choir school, is now a... More

Possibly the most wonderful place we've ever stayed. The posada is in a beautiful, historic building (convent, I think) in a charming medieval town. Our room, number 3, had two balconies, each with enchanting view of the cliff and river gorge and the parador on the other side of the river. Absolutely the most beautiful view I've ever seen from...
