We were on a Road Scholar Tour of Spain which took us to this beautiful town and booked accommodations at this wonderful inn. The room was lovely and had a great balcony overlooking the gorge. We ate several meals in the restaurant during our two night stay, which were delicious. Cuenca should not be missed and staying at Posada de... More

We stayed for only one night, wanted two. The accomodation was wonderful and interesting as it's in an old convent. Lots of passages small door ways, uneven floors with loads of character. Our room was 75 euro and had a small balcony with a view out to gauge. The room was large for European standard, with table and chairs, a... More

We stayed in this establishment last September for a friend's Wedding which was also held on the premises. It was certainly one of the most atmospheric places that I have stayed in - our room was in one of the lower floors with a panoramic view of the gorge and a charming outside terrace.I think the building was a converted monastery... One of my favorite once-anonymous hotels in the most spectacular Spanish rural mountain setting. Getting to Cuenca takes some planning and the goal must be romantic or near spiritual. Posada de San Jose gives you peace and purity of soul. The tiny hanging balconies of their best rooms are simply architectural gems from a Bruegel canvas. The classic ravine of... More

Posado San Jose is hidden in the narrow laneways of Cuenca. It is a 14th century building nestled on the cliff face. When we opened the door to room 33, and placed the suitcase on the ground it rolled across the room hitting the wall on the opposite side. This was a visual reminder that these buildings have been here... More

The location is good in the old town, although help with where to park would be appreciated. The rooms are great; lots of character. The restaurant has a superb vista, but the meal we had was just decent.

More of a hotel than being classified as a B & B , this is a really great place to stay. Worth paying for the more expensive rooms to get balconies overlooking the gorge and the Parador opposite. Our room was quite spacious with a small sofa and armchair and had a little annexe room before going out onto the... More

We have mixed feelings about this place though would go back there if we are in Cuenca again. The owner has great taste in interior design and our room was wonderful with a great view. The mixed feelings comes from 2 aspects: the evening meal was over priced for what it was and the attitude of the waitress obviously has... More

The posad is a very special hotel. It's in a great location in el casco antiguo. You can get a room with a private bathroom and spectacular views. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I always dreamed of staying get. I guess some dreams come true.

The town of cuenca is a dream vacation with lots of sites and activities. Perched on the cliff is the posada. Wonderful location. And jaw dropping views. Our room was spotlessly clean and offered all we needed. We met the owner who originated in Canada like my wife and I. Needless to say, we had a lot to talk about.... More
