There aren't many waterfront hotels open along the Costa Brava in November, so we were happy to find rooms at the Mar y Sol. However, the rooms are extremely basic and in need of updating. Upon arrival, the rooms seemed clean, but I noticed several (about ten) ants crawling on the floor the next morning. Friends were in the room... More

This is a really good place. I stayed here previously about 4 years ago and it was just as good second time round. Get a superior double with sea view and you actually get a suite. My only negative would be that it would benefit from aircon, but that would be nit picking. If you go to the Costa Brava... More

The room we were in was on a corner the fourth floor and we had not realized that it is a small apartment, with a separate living room and a closet kitchen. We enjoyed a nice view on the beach and the amenities were clean and comfortable. Breakfast downstairs was pretty standard. My only relatively small gripes were the absence... More

We know Roses well and have tryed most of the Hotels on the seafront, having had lovely meals at their restaurant several times we said why not try the Hotel. The room we had was large with a beautiful seaview but like a sauna inside, impossible to lower the heat so we slept with the window open all night. This... More

We last stayed here 3 years ago, and it hasn't changed. The main reason to select this hotel is its location in Roses itself - if that's where you want to be. Roses is a bustling town with a parking problem - mostly now parking ticket meters (to raise revenue). We went out of high season and it was still... More

Great location here in Roses. Ideal for the beach, Dali trip to Figueres, boat excursion to Cadaques and accessible to Dali's home in Port Lligat. A good value and some decent sized rooms. Some nice dining all within a walk.

Stayed here in June 2011 very good value hotel adjacent to beach and town, rooms are in the process of being renovated some therefore very good others need a repaint, staff excellent manager very helpful very good if you want to be close to all facilites can be noisey at night. Restaurant is one of the more exspensive but service... More

Stayed here last weekend. Great rates out of season and massive value for money - booked through Hotels.com Out of season parking is easy - in season - don't even think about it - Roses is mad! Our room was large and had two twin beds, two sofas and a kitchenette. Bathroom a little bit on the wee side and... More

cosy old-fashioned apartments with kitchenette and air-condition, walk right across the road to the beach, enjoy the good breakfast in the upmarket priced restaurant, but forget about your internet connection and be lucky to find a place to park your car nearby in high season

We spent 2 nights in Roses Spain, a great area about 2 hours north of Barcelona by car. The city is on a bay with about 3-4 miles of sandy beach. The city is very touristy, meaning that there are large crowds in the summer, with scores of restaurants and shops filled with people. So if you are looking for... More
