We had a room on the 2nd (top) floor with our own small balcony. The room was a reasonable size with an adequate bathroom. The hotel looks like it had been recently refurbished. The situation was in the old town close to all the attractions. Staff very friendly with limited English and the hotel was very clean

Good location in the centre of town. Very friendly and helpful staff. A bit basic - you have to go 50 metres up the road to a cafe for breakfast because they have no restaurant - but apart from that, probably the best value in town.

I truly chose this hotel simply for location as there wasn't many options in the area however I expected it to be better from the reviews i've seen. It's truly a 1.5 star and my room was pretty underwhelming, not really that clean and the bed was pretty poor. I rarely complain as I usually actually find great hotels using Tripadvisor however this one slipped thru the cracks. I even had some huge dead insect dead in the main ceiling light fixture which really grossed me out. I should of mentioned it but since it was dead I just left it alone. There was also little tiny tiny insects cruising the washroom floor. LOL. So.. If location is important to you this is one of the few that have a great location in Badajoz! Just don't expect it to be nice because it isn't. Service is great though, the front desk people are really nice. If you're driving there's free parking on streets near by however it will be a little walk.

Lovely hotel in a central location in the old town of Badajoz. The room was large, maybe a little basic but very clean. For the price this is more than I expected. Friendly staff although English is limited (completely understandable in this part of Spain) so have a few basic phrases at hand and you will be fine. I would definitely return.

There's not much to say about this hotel. Both receptionists don't speak one word English, not even yes or no. The hotel had a private parking, but was already full when we arrived, make sure to reserve beforehand. With some handgesturing and a map the receptionist managed to indicate us the closest parking. The carpet in the hallway is very dirty, looked like it hasn't seen a vacuumcleaner for weeks. The room is very basic, with old towels and sheets, not what you expect from a 2 star hotel. The shower door was broken and not all the stands of the shower worked. The hotel is way overrated, we would not recommend it for a nice citytrip..

I'd say this hotel is pretty average in a good way, but the fact that it is cheap pushes it up a bit on a value for money basis. We definitely stayed in more expensive places that were not as good. Some features of the hotel and room were a bit worn, and the wifi signal swung from fine to very slow, but the service was friendly, the room was large, beds comfy and the bathroom clean and well kitted out. The hotel is in a good location right in the centre of Badajoz. There is a bar/restaurant next door which is part of the hotel which we did not sample. The hotel is quiet so it's not the kind of place you would stay as a solo traveller looking for adventure, but then I'm not sure Badajoz is that kind of place. The one biggest draw back I would say is that, as in most Spanish cities, the parking is a nightmare and the hotel offers a secure underground mini car park - but at 12 euros extra I think this was a bit steep.

Central, good price, secure parking, large room, Comfortable bed, clean. Difficult to find as GPS gave us a route where cars were prohibited due to the narrow streets and some were one way. Don't always trust Google Maps! We rang to book but the person we talked to did not speak English. We turned up anyway and the English speaking Receptionist was there. Very helpful. She gave us a choice of rooms. We picked a quiet one at the back although the front ones would have been ok. Not many tourists in Badajoz. While there, don't walk through the derelic area. We got accosted, harassed and followed by someone wanting to sell us something. we had to seek refuge in a restaurant but the man just sat by the entrance waiting for us. it was very scary. Later on while walking through places we always were looking over our shoulders.

The hotel is brilliantly located on Badajoz's old town. It is very cosy and although it is only a 2-star hotel, it is better than some 3-star ones i've stayed in the past. The room was large as well as the bathroom. It was decorated with quality and stylish furniture and finishings and it included TV, bar, AC, bathroom heating, 2 sets of towels, and so forth. The staff were very friendly and helpul. On a less positive note, perhaps the rather thin walls between rooms, which allowed sound to travel a bit more than what me and my girlfriend would have liked but nothing major. Wi-fi signal didn't reach our room but staff provided a LAN cable to connect the laptop to the hotel's network. Overall it's a great place offering a great value-for-money right in the old town of Badajoz. In my opinion, travellers on a budget not willing to sacrifice on quality and comfort, would be happy with Hotel San Marcos for sure.

The title says it all. Very centrally located, in the old part of town, hard to park outside but they do have a garage (at a charge of €10/night). Nice modern rooms, very clean, good shower, good internet connection (cable), except the bed was too small (and that was the double!). There was an airco, TV and a safe in my room. Breakfast is probably better enjoyed outside the hotel's built-in restaurant: it was a bit skimpy, although not bad.

I stayed here with 3 friends over 3 nights, The hotel is in the Old town, very narrow streets, Parking can be a bit hard,if you cant park in the local streets but if ok with a 10 min walk then various places to park, either free up near Plaza Alta or 12 euros a night in underground carpark, the hotel has street maps to show you where, Beware you will need basic Spanish or very good translator machine, this is not the Costa Brava thank god! Hotel has 3 Floors and is served by a lift, Every where we saw in hotel was very clean , and our room with twin beds was very clean and a great size, so was my friends, they both had Air con, (you control) Huge Wardrobe with safe and full size fridge, ideal to keep picnic stuff fresh. Small sofa and chair with table. Small TV only one English speaking channel CNN, . All staff we met were very friendly and wanted to help. Hotel has resteraunt attached open to locals from early for breakfast until well into evening. Batroom was fine and very clean, with shower and Bidet. Only real complaint was that noise did carry very easily in hotel from one room to another, so if you are unlucky with inconsiderate guests you might be kept awake. Me I sleep through anything., beds them selves very comfy
