Well, I have a bit of inside information on this property, I have got to know the owner through multiple stay's here, and actually my time here has always been OK. The downstairs areas have been furnished quite nicely, while the bedrooms remain basic. The price bracket however reflects this. I am not too sure if the hotel is actually... More

I have never before written a bad review but A Colina really stands out ... It was so bad we didn't even stay there. Desk unattended when we arrivde. Staff member eventually showed up. We had booked two rooms but only one was ready. We were told we'd have to share for the first night then move rooms. First showed... More

We stayed at this hotel/villa for 14 nights Aug 2011 and have to say this is the most rundown neglected place I have ever had the misfortune of staying, Rats Mice loose dogs debt collectors 3 nights of no running water leaking pool...... just to much to mention. email me for more details darren.pepper@virgin.net.

Let me start out by saying that I very, very rarely write bad reviews on hotels. I'm generally a really enthusiastic guy - I love to travel, and not much will make me feel bad about my trip. This hotel however.. It just wasn't my thing. It's not that its bad - by all means - its just .. misleading.... More

Rooms basic but comfortable. The much praised owner/Savoy chef person not in evidence during our stay ( or he couldn't be bothered to speak to us!) Busy playing golf I think. Can't comment on the food except for breakfast which was ok. The staff in evidence were friendly and helpful although sometimes we had to ask for an extra towel... More

We stayed at the A Colina for a couple of nights and had a wonderful time. Its located in a lovley private and secluded area overlooking a beautiful valley. Rooms were spotlessly clean and the Service we received was first class. We ate hear on both nights and the food was lovely, fresh and to a high standard. I would... More

Owned by a former Head Chef at the Savoy in London, this home-away from home offers very comfortable surrounding, a great location and, as might be expected, wonderful food. Twenty minutes from the, thoroughly spoiled coast, this is a great place from which to explore the region. All of the staff went out of their way to make guests feel... More

Our friends who live in Portugal recommended us to stay here - they regularly eat there and love the place. We normally stay in 5* (expensive) hotels and this was intended to be a last-minute getaway so we didn't expect too much. How wrong we were! We had the best break we've had in ages! The hotel is situated in... More
