We (my wife and I) stayed at Il Grotto 5 days in June, 2014. This is a perfect base for visiting Umbrian hill-towns. The view down to the village of Bevagna is magical. Located not in Bevagna town but outskirts, not easy to arrive because lack of street direction signs... is highly advisable to arrive on daytime but in case cannot make it, just have the mobile available to call for more detailed directions or to be picked up like happened to us... A house completely immerse in the countryside surrounded by olive... More

Its a little off the beaten track and all the more pleasureable for it. On Sundays a buffet brunch is served on a terrace (with a great view looking over bevagna) that wouldn't be out of place in one of Ottolenghi's restaurants, only all the ingredients are umbrian and its inspired by a Berlin tradition, thanks to the hosts George... Il Grotto is the perfect place if you want to spend a lazy Sunday eating local and international food (berlin brunch) perfectly prepared by the charismatic hosts from Berlin.
