The Il' Faro Guitiga Hotel is fantastic. As a matter of fact, the whole island is fantastic! I am grateful to the kind people of Lampedusa for having the opportunity to visit this beautiful place. The hotel staff is friendly and tries hard to understand English speakers. It is best if you learn a few Italian phrases as English is not widely spoken on the Island. I happen to like that. This is the an authentic look at the real Italy. It is mainly a vacation spot for middle and upper class Italians. I heard French spoken, but no other language. The island appears safe and clean. The lady at the front desk speaks French and a little English, and is very kind. If you need water she can sell you a few bottles. The rooms come with a telephone, safe, air conditioning, bathroom, mini bar, TV, and you can connect to the wireless INTERNET.(you may need to get closer to the office to connect) Breakfast is served on the beach at their little restaurant bar.
