This B&B is lovely. The rooms are beautifully decorated and you have a feeling of being in a period novel. The house is warm and comfortable and the owner is polite and kind. The family live separately so clients have their privacy. All your needs are catered for, the service is excellent and has a personal touch to it all... More

I stayed here for 1 night with my girlfriend when we went to visit Alton towers. The stay was amazing and you felt really welcomed. On arrival we were offered tea or coffee with homemade cake which was a little nice treat. The owner was happy to help with any question. In the village there was a wide selection of... More

We had a really relaxing stay at this B&B. Decoration and facilities were excellent, with lots of little touches giving the place real character. Breakfast was delicious and there are several pubs serving food within easy walking distance. Abbots Bromley is well worth exploring on foot. We did a bit of walking and Mountain Biking as this B&B is well... More

We stumbled across this B&B with a very last minute reservation. The room was brilliantly clean with an incredibly comfortable bed - with the glorious smell of freshly laundered sheets! There were lots of generous touches (an 'emergency bucket' in the bathroom containing bits that any one staying may have forgotten - including a disposable tooth brush, a nice jar... More

Another truely fabulous stay, courtesy of the lovely Sharon and Buttercross. This time we were greated by an entire chocolate malteser cake made just for us girls. And it was absolutely delicious! Buttercross really has become a home away from home for us and we are made to feel so welcome by Sharon, who is the most consummate host. The... More

It was lovely to see you all again. I am glad you enjoyed the rather naughty but nice Malteser cake. I will have to make something with the children in mind for your next stay! Buttercross really is lovely when a group takes over all the rooms and the lounge/breakfast room gets used for gatherings for glasses of wine, chocolates,... More

This little B&B was a beautiful find. Myself and my partner wanted somewhere close to Alton Towers, that was nice and comfortable, and a little bit different from your standard Premier Inn. This little B&B was exactly what we were looking for, the owners had put a lot of thought into their B&B and the detail put into the rooms... More

Thank you for your lovely review. You mention so many things! We are nicely situated for a visit to Alton Towers and I have many guests stay that appreciate all the luxurious comforts after a day of adrenalin fuelled activity! The bathroom is a lovely sanctuary to soak away those tired limbs. DVD's in all the bedrooms are provided so... More

I stay here when up in the area on business. The reason for choosing the Buttercross is two fold: Firstly the village with it 4 pubs and indian restaurant gives me plenty of dining options and all the pubs are well supported by the locals, so where ever you end up there is always plenty going on! The second reason... More

Thank you for your review. The village certainly is a great place to visit. All the pubs and Indian offer great food and friendly service along with the chance to meet the locals if you should choose. The ensuite bathrooms are not large but they are as you say more than adequate with great showers, and a small bathroom is... More

Sharon is an absolute pleasure as a host and was extremely helpful and welcoming when I came for a one night stay. The room was beautiful, tidy and comfortable with all of the facilities you could want including a very good shower. The bed was perfect and sent me into a satisfying sleep. I think what really sets this place... More

I booked all three rooms at Buttercross B&B for a 3-night stay in November. I called Sharon to discuss our stay as myself and family planned to stay in the area to both celebrate my Mum’s 70th birthday and to be close to my sister who was due to give birth around the same time. As we wanted to book... More

Thank you for taking the time to review Buttercross. It was a pleasure having you and your family stay. It is great when the whole place is occupied by one family or group of friends as everyone gathers in the breakfast room/lounge to enjoy tea and cakes or to celebrate with a glass of wine or just chat and watch...
