Just returned from trip to the Somme area,paying respects to partners Great Grandfather, stayed at Les Haras Du Chateau, what a lovely place to stay. The location is great for visiting the battle area, well situated for trips to Abert,Arras,Perrone,Pozieres and the rest, Owners so friendly, apartment was lovely, well equipped, comfortable, clean. After a week in the gite "Les Tilleuls"--Les Haras du Chateau--all I wanted for Christmas was Vadim, the two-year-old bay down in the stable. We had two nights in an immaculate, first-floor gite/apartment here while visiting battlefield areas around Arras. The charming owners breed Arab horses, so our arrival was keenly observed by some of these beautiful creatures whose stables overlook the cobbled courtyard.
