Lovely place, fabulous food, excellent service. But it was €16 for a bottle of mineral water. We were upgraded to a better room but it was still rather small and the bathroom rather awkward. And no real bar area. And it was €25pp for a Continental breakfast. Still, we loved it and would like to go back, except for...

Great hotel and restaurant all in one (see restaurant reviews for specifics on that). This is a lovely Relais Chateau property. Our room, Blue Beard, was both quiet and comfortable. The bathroom was large and the big spa tub was fun All the suite rooms in the old castle look like there are similar in set up, but we really... More

The castle is located in the countryside, really in the middle of nowhere, in a very romantic surrounding. Exactly as you would expect form a castle. The room we had (above the restaurant, cant remember the name) was a Chambre Chateau Prestige. We booked the discovery package (EUR499) which was quite pricy but worth every penny. The dinner in the... More

Even the photos on the Internet, although fabulous , do not do this beautiful castle justice. Set in a small village just outside Bort Le Tang, it was like stepping back in time.Extremely peaceful ( except for a few noisy geese) we didn't want to leave. Dinner was exceptional. The chef is Michelin star rated. Totally restored and very comfortable.... More

We have just stayed one night at the Chateau De Codignat Relais hotel. I don't normally write reviews but our stay was so perfect that I felt I should .We stayed in a marvellously quirky room(gold toilet and bath) in a castle tower with a four poster.Last night we had the 1 star Michelin fixed dinner including wines with about... Travelling at the last minute to Caen, avoiding Calais, we had to take a new route to the South of France and found this hotel conveniently close to the motorway between Clermont-Ferrond and Lyon. Although relatively expensive, we had a lovely if eclectic room overlooking the grounds with a very comfortable bed and spent the afternoon around a pretty pool,... More

We stayed in this beautiful tiny chateau for two nights. The location is magical, in the middle of a incredible country side. Very peaceful and romantic. The park outside is really well mantained and relaxing. Our suite in the cottage ( quite expensive ) was really small, dirty and practically with no bathroom: i mean that there was a corner... More

We stayed for two nights at the Chateau with our two boys ages 7 and 11. We had a really lovely experience. We live in Paris but are American. Positive- I personally thought the exterior of the Chateau was just lovely very well maintained. Also, the public areas, like the restaurant and pool were gorgeous and our boys swam in... More

I finally had to check-out early as I could not get any wi-fi in my room (and I had booked the largest and best suite of the hotel). I couldn't do work or or or unless I came down to the bar or patio to get on-line. That sounds fine, but the bar was over-run with people who came to... More

This is the real Middle Age chateau renovated for tourists. Interior look old fashion but might have been recently renovated so that all are very convenient to use. From our arrival, bellman, reception staff are all friendly. I called from the room to get password for wifi, the person who received my call brought a card himself. Dinner is served... More
