We stayed there for one night, the location was great, so close to the beach. Also had free parking which was a bonus. The room was clean, we had a twin room. It was behind the kitchen and near the showers/toilet but this was not too much of an issue, the kitchen is locked at night so people cannot use... More

We only stayed here for one night. It was a good stay. Beautifull accomodation. Friendly staff. Only downside were the bathroom/showers. There was a lot of mess and not clean. But it was due to fellow travellers, leaving stuff behind and not cleaning up after themselves. For us the restaurant/bar closed a little bit to early. But overall nice stay... More

Enjoyed my stay at this hostel. Firstly it has good and free parking facilities. We checked in with no problems. The room was a little bit small (just a single bunk bed) and no aircon! There is a large fan but it did not really have the same effect. The building is beautiful and we spent a lot of time... More

I even told the cleaning staff how clean i thought this hostel was! By far one of the nicest we've been in! Location was amazing!! The hostel itself is such a cute and homey building i could have stayed here for weeks! The only problem i had was one of the reception staff were rude.

This was a lovely place to stay and we will definitely return. Fantastic location right next to the beach, shops and restaurants. The rooms were nice and the bathrooms were fine. The kitchen was well equipped and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Our 4th visit to Halse Lodge. Heritage building, fantastic location for beach, coastal walk (recently rated the top coastal walk near Brisbane by WeekendNotes), shops and natonal forest walk. Check out Council free shuttle to nearby suburbs. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lots of working visa volunteers on site, apparently not many have the skills and initiatives to know how... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Halse Lodge in September 2015. The weather was just starting to warm up. We stayed in the Rainforest Room which is a 16 bed dorm. It was incredibly peaceful. The location is perfect for access to the beach, shops and national park. We were lucky enough to spot a Koala. We also saw some... More

My husband decided for us to try something different and it was different. It was a social venue with the opportunity to chat with travelers from everywhere. The room we had was very basic but clean. Share bathrooms and kitchen were the norm there. For a night, it was ok except we had a young traveler mistaking our room for... More

I was only here for one night, but I absolutely loved it! Never seem to have an issue with YHA. Every night there is a welcome meeting at the hostel, so it is a great way to meet people. It is just by the beach and only about a 10 minute walk to the National Park. Though it is a... More

I stayed here for three nights in total broken up by a trip to Fraser Island. There is a shuttle bus from the greyhound drop off. Don't try and walk it as I did. It is up a huge hill and with a massive bag in the heat, not the best idea I have ever had! The hostel is really... More
