We stopped at the Sandfire Roadhouse for a couple hours on a big drive south. Lovely little place in middle of nowhere, variety of food to order and beautiful peacocks wandering around. Also, had great Telstra reception here which was fantastic because had to make some phone calls

The name says it all! We only stopped off there for petrol and something to eat. A thermometer there registered above 40 degrees (January). We ordered pies and set off to explore the amazing things that were outside such as old farm implements, petrol pumps and old signs covering the walls. A peacock wandered passed us as we ate our... A quick overnight stop, Sandfire Roadhouse is very handy for a drive between Broome and Port Hedland. We walked in and found a lady leaning over the counter who didn't even say hello until we did, and we had to wait until she was finished what she was doing to be taken care of. The room was tidy and clean... More

Sand-Fire Roadhouse is located 270km north of Port Hedland and a good little stop if it is getting late and you do not wish to drive at dusk which is recommended. At $140 per night for a cabin, the price was reasonable compared to many other similar accommodation choices within the Pilbara. How busy this place is reflects on how... More

I camped after a full day of driving from Meeka while towing a boat. I just made it by 7pm to get a camp site but no food was being served or petrol. I had to get to Kununurra the next day and couldn't leave until 7am as had to get fuel. Disappointed I wasn't aware of the limited opening... More

rode in at 1830 and got an ensuite room, it was luxury after a day of riding on the tarmac. Comfortable accommodation , clean and staff that smile. Even though they have a captured audience they still treat you like a guest. The food was great and the prices reasonable for the location.

We have passed this roadhouse several times, but this time we were travelling from Carnarvon to Karratha and looking at somewhere to stay overnight. It was an ideal stop, very little highway noise throughout the night, and at $30 for a powered site we felt it was a good choice.

We stayed here twice in April 2014, in a motel room. Was not surprised to pay $140/night for a double and pleasantly surprised at standard the first time. The second time was not so pleasant. Different room and different condition. The couple we were travelling with had to change rooms because the drain was blocked. The second room for them... More

Stayed here after driving from Karratha and needing a well earned rest. While it's in the middle of nowhere, the owners have thoughtfully provided a campers kitchen with microwave, electric kettle fridge and toaster. We had lovely hot showers and a good nights sleep along with the other grey nomads in a shady campground away from the highway noise. Well... More
