This cottage has both dorm beds and at least 2 shared bedrooms - suitable for couples. There is NO internet at the cottage. Pristine and a large kitchen. There is a lot of hardwood for the stove in the lounge/living room, The draft is great when the handle is TO THE LEFT. Then the fire gets roaring jhot - good... More

We stayed in a twin room in the cottage on Dean St which was suprisingly nice. Heater in room and plenty of blankets and good sized room meant a comfortable stay before we headed off on the Bib Track. Kitchen and bathroom very tidy and comfy lounges in sitting area.

Rocked up soaking wet, cold and tired and have to admit was a little worried looking at the reception. However, had a friendly welcome and directed to the cottage. This was lovely! Comfortable, clean and warm! Lovely fire, bathroom and kitchen plus comfortable beds! Close to the IGA supermarket and bottle shop. I would highly recommend and already thinking of... More

I've stayed here on a number of occasions, and the experience is pretty much the same each time apart from the number of people in the room I've booked. Most recently I was travelling with two friends and, as previously, we were allocated to a house in Dean Street opposite the IGA, which is very convenient for picking up food... More

YHA Pemberton consists of 2 buildings. Make sure you get a room or a bed in the cottage across the supermarket! very spacious, good kitchen and great fire place, you can chop your wood in the backyard.

As others have found, there is a cottage opposite, which I was fortunate to stay in, it costs the same as the main building but is better, as it has more freedom and less "hostelly". More like a shared apartment, although the rooms are small and shared, they are rarely full. There is a wood fire that is your responsibility,... More

Be advised - there are actually two different buildings and accomodation type listed as this hostel. There is the main hostel building (not YHA) and a small cottage a short distance from the main office. We stayed in the small cottage. The cottage is a gorgeous little building set away from the road and opposite a medium sized supermarket. There... More

was expecting a room, got that, it was a double room with bathroom just opposite the door in a 3 bed roomed, self contained cottage. Wood burner, working kitchen, t.v, cheap as chips, I.G.A opposite and bottle shop beside that. perfect.

Avoid this place! Location ok, but in Pemberton, everything is central... Run- down wooden barracks with dirty, underequipped kitchen (3 tables, 3 chairs, few pans but no plates or cuttlery, so useless). Mostly inhabited by Woofers in the area. Loud music and parties in the evening.

Stayed in a single room in the YHA 3 bedroom house near IGA. Clean house, including bathroom. Comfy couches with tv and open fireplace. Good heaters through house. All bedrooms lockable. Good kitchen with microwave. No problems
