Once we had found it, (poor signing), there was a warm welcome, good food, interesting art works, helpful staff. Two weakpoints, noise from railway and shared bathroom. Welcoming, comfortable and eclectic. Good points were Breakfast, vehicle security and attentive staff. Coffee making facilities and port nightcap provided along with offer of carrot cake! Room was clean and comfortable with incredible... More

After a quick accommodation search we found this gem, fantastic location very helpful staff member. The room we chose over looks the water and the feel of the place is like stepping back in time , beautiful detail with the paintings and intricate detaling on the roof light fixtures. Not to mention every thought is given to guest comfort offering... More

We recently travelled to WA for a short break and booked this place before getting there, what a surprise. Really friendly staff, very welcoming. Room was clean and comfy. Bathroom could do with a make over but very functional. Location was excellent, walking distance to restaurants and shops. Would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Albany is a lovely, rugged and historic town with many places of interest, though for us North Queenslanders a tad chilly. Our hostess warmed us with complimentary warm drinks and delicious port. We then snuggled up in our quaint bedroom until we awoke to a lovely home cooked breakfast with all the trimmings and plunger coffee. To top it off, we... More

Amazing service and hospitality in a prime location looking out over Albany's foreshore and harbour. The hotel is a beautiful old historic buidling idealy situated along the foreshore strip and close to all attractions. It has an eclectic mix of decorations that make it an intersting stay , including a large collection of reproduction classical paintings and a large collection... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at AFGH. The rooms were comfortable, great selection of complimentary DVD's, delicious breakfast and friendly service. Word of advice if you are staying on a weekend, request the rooms at the back of the building.

Very interesting building, the highest ceiling we have ever slept under! Filled with artworks and antique cameras. Staff very friendly and welcoming, allowed us to keep our car parked here while we walked the Bibbullman track for a few days. Just what we were looking for.

If you like your accommodation with a bit of character, this place is for you! The floor to (incredibly high) ceiling paintings make for interesting decor. Our host was fantastic and provided an excellent breakfast and a toasted sandwich in the evening - we didn't even need to go out for dinner!

We were very thankful to come across the AFGH overlooking the harbour. The rooms were cosy, clean and had all the necessary amenities. The service was fantastic. Sarin makes a great breakfast and couldn't do enough for us - a great manager and host. The eclectic décor was unique but grew on us over the couple of days we were... More

We stayed here for a night. The guesthouse had wonderful old charm to it. The staff were wonderful. They were helpful in providing information about the town and sights to see. The guesthouse were decorated with replica paintings. Breakfast was great. We had a few selections to pick from. I had an omelette and toast, my daughter had the grand... More
