Unit 4 is privately owned by a couple David and Sandie. Very lovely place, relaxing and quiet. One of the room and the balcony downstairs is facing the beach. This is probably the best self-contained apartment I've come across with provision of stuff you need for cooking, washing, etc. Sleeps up to 4. Check out www.castlereagh4.com.au for more details.

Retirement Village??? Not sure what BeHappy is on about there, but realistically do you book a hotel room based on the decor? Of course not. Stayed here for two nights after booking through the Information Centre. Reminded me of a unit in a retirement village, circa 1980, tired and dated decor - the beds are lumpy and uncomfortable, as are the couches. And it is a fair drive- 5mins or more - from the shops. My wife and I have just spent a week at the Castlereagh and loved every minute of it. The view over King George Sound is fantastic and the location in general is very good.
