We stayed here for one night for our friends wedding .. It was charming, such a relaxing atmosphere. Would definitely recommend a stay here :) The breakfast was tasty and not at all greasy, just how I like it, and to top off our stay the owner gave us a lift to the train station and was great at recommending... The Admiral's View apartment was a very pleasant surprise. It's large, beautiful and comfortable with a view over the water and easy walking distance to the main strip, ferry and beach.. The people who run it are so lovely too. I can definitely recommend it and hope to go back again soon.

Our family of four (2 teenage boys & parents) had a perfect stay in the beautifully appointed "Victorian Cottage" run by Melissa & crew from "Captain's Retreat". We felt it was very much a home away from home. Extremely comfortable and welcoming with supplies for our breakfast & snacks - We'll definitely return for our next stay in Melbourne. It's... More

We recently spent a night over a weekend at the Captains Retreat. We very much enjoyed the accommodation in the Britannica Room. Beautifully decorated, clean and fresh. Aspect with the bay window onto Ferguson Street was a delight. Staff were bright and helpful. Breakfast on the verandah the next morning was a great way to start the day. We will... More

We were very pleased by the hospitality of Melissa and her staff. We arrived late on the Friday evening and Melissa drove us to a local restaurant - great service. The room were great with some fantastic additional touches. The cooked breakfast was delicous and we were very well looked after by Melissa and Mary during our stay.

I rarely stay in a B&B when travelling, and I have to say, this beautifully renovated cottage has changed my mind. You immediately feel at home just walking through the door. Large bedrooms with gorgeous fireplace (one in the bathroom too, I did not turn that on) - massive bathroom with a luxurious spa. Guest lounge and kitchen was fantastic... More

I normally don't like B&B's as you feel as though you are invading someone's home but I found the Captains Retreat an absolute delight and pleasure to stay at, my room was extremely comfortable & private. Melissa the perfect hostess always with a smile providing delicious breakfasts with always a delicious cake to have with a cup of tea also... More

From the moment we rang the door bell well were overwhelmed by the warmth and genuine caring nature of Melissa and the wonderful staff that mysteriously keep this B&B immaculate but you never see! We stayed in the top half of the house(captains room) and well worth it. Melissa made us feel so relaxed and welcome, the main living area more... More

My wife and I stayed here over the weekend, we thought it was a lovely cottage on the Main Street, cross the road and u can see across to the CBD, as we checked in there was a hamper for us for breakfast, and a home made cake, the cottage was very clean and well looked after, had no problems... Captains Retreat was simply amazing. So close to everything that Williamstown has to offer, while providing the luxury of a secluded getaway. Melissa was a fantastic host and made our stay so much more enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again.
