Pretty property situated in quite location close to the river Comfortable rooms with plenty of space Public areas are quirky but great fun and a good antidote to any chain offerings Staff were friendly knowledgeable & very keen to emphasise the local & often home grown produce on display Well worth a trip especially after the journey along the Great... I really loved this place. It is well located near the port and close to the town centre. In fact Port Fairy itself is a charming village and I wished we had planned to stay longer. The Inn itself was delightful and we had a lovely room which was a kind of suite with a comfortable lounge area. Given the... More

We stayed here for one night travelling from the mornington peninsular to adelaide. What a wonderful find! This place is full of character and very historic. There were several communal areas to sit in to read or just relax as well as a small kitchen area with tea and coffee making facilities and home made biscuits provided. We had a... More

We stayed in the King room and it was a beautiful room. Private entrance, king size bed, stunning lounge room, and beautiful gardens. This inn is just so gorgeous, and very central close to the beach and the shops. Highly recommend!!! We had dinner and cocktails at the inn also and it was divine. Highly recommend the strawberry cocktail and... More

Port fairy is lovely, and what a lovely place to stay. Everyone friendly and accommodating, hotel quiet and relaxing. Delicious breakfast. Attic room is small but perfectly formed. Maybe a little small if staying for more than one night. But all the beautiful touches and decor make this a must stay!!! Thank you x

Merrijig Inn's accommodation is all under the one roof and in an excellent location. We were one of 3 couples that travelled South Australia from the end of Dec - early Jan spending New Years Eve at Merrijig. All our rooms were different. Each with its own character. It was like visiting your Grandmothers home, and I say home because... More

We stayed at this quaint little bnb just one day in the weekend. It's a very small town and locals book to dine here. So should you too if you're visiting this town. But do remember to book the dinner as well when you book the room. We enjoyed the real fire in the common area while sipping our hot... More

Port Fairy was disappointing so when we checked into the Merrijig and saw our Suite we were very pleased. First impressions were good but on reflection it was very dark and felt a bit cold (not literally). The Staff were efficient but not that friendly which is an easy fix to make guests feel welcome. Their Restaurant has a very... More

A number of people from as far away as Adelaide recommended a visit to the Merrijig Inn while in Port Fairy. From the outside it's a quant little inn and B&B on a back street near the marina. The service was friendly, jovial and welcoming. The food, just magnificent. Paired with an extensive wine list with a large contingent from... More

This was one of the most perfect and memorable places we stayed in during our Australian holiday. We were in room 4, which is a room attached to the Inn, but with its own, external, private access. It was very private, self-contained with its own sitting room. The décor was quirky and ethnic, but fun, clean and inviting. The whole... More
