What a beautiful historic inn in Port Fairy! I stayed at the inn for two nights in room 6 (one of the attic rooms) with a view of the wharf. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent and I had dinner at the inn one of the nights. It was very delicious. The inn is located very... More

Merrijig Inn has about 3 or 4 large ensuite rooms. Our room was very spacious and modern. The Inn itself is very old (reportedly the oldest in Victoria) and this history is maintained throughout the building. You can just feel it. The commons areas (bar, restaurant, conservatory, sitting areas) are beautifully furnished and really make you feel at home. To... More

Beautiful little inn. We stayed in room 1 which opened into a common area with large fireplace. Rather than having tea and coffee in each room, they had a shared kitchenette with a large variety of tea as well as biscuits. The breakfast was very fresh. Small touches like placing a pin on the world marking where you are from... More

The Merrijig Inn is perfectly positioned close to the wharf area and a very short walk to the centre of town The accommodation was very good and homely, very warm ,rooms were clean, lovely fire in the guests lounge. We have dined here a couple of times before with previous owners . At that time the food and service was... More

My friend and I stayed in the largest room that has a separate dinning room and bathroom. The King bed was replaced with 2 singles. Things that we loved about our stay- warm, friendly staff, home cooked breakfast with local produce, clean, the location short walking distance to town, extra shared sitting room with open fire, shared kitchen with tea,... I could have lived in our room which had its own entrance. Felt more like an apartment. It's Victoria's oldest Inn but beautifully kept and restored. Comfortable everything and so very cosy. Tasty homemade Biscuits on arrival, assortment of great teas, dinner at their restaurant was wonderful (started with the Morton Bay Bugs - loved them). The included breakfast was... More

Had a great stay in this B and B which doubles as a restaurant in the evenings . Why beds in sheds ? Well our room whilst part of the main building looked like our shed at home with all its timber cladding , separate front door and low pitched roof ! The hosts were very friendly and whilst we... A spontaneous weekend away in Port Fairy. Winter has started, windy, wet and wild. Random booking at the Merrijig Inn because they offered cosy accommodation, waterside locale and breakfast was included. Room upgrade first off, to a queen with ensuite and private sitting room. Booked the last table for an amazing dinner. Fresh local ingredients made every dish sing. A... More

My hubby and I stayed here for 1 night in the attic bedroom. We loved the cozy ambience of the Inn, especially the living room area with a fireplace! Our bedroom was quite small but comfy and there was a hot water bottle provided. Breakfast was provided and it was a pretty yummy spread! Friendly staff and we loved the... More

Good location near main part of Port Fairy and the river. Breakfast is brilliant, rooms are nice (we stayed in the King Suite). Friendly service, relaxed atmosphere, a very good example of a B&B. Overall, would definitely come back and happy to recommend.
