My daughter and I shared the quirky upstairs attic which just fit two single iron beds, and a bathroom which required a bit of head ducking under the pitched roof! We had the run of the place after dinner, and made cups of tea, read books and watched tv before a good night's sleep with a dormer window open to... More

After a couple of ho-hum motel stays along the Great Ocean Road, the Merrijig Inn was a lovely respite. Welcoming innkeepers, homey rooms, and delectable dinner served on the premises. An ideal location--close to both downtown and the gorgeous beach walk make this the perfect place to stay.

The inn is a perfect place to stay. Excellent accomodation, a great eclectic mix of furniture with bags of comfortable style. Home baked cookies awaited with delightful teas. The food was sublime, we ate our evening meal at the inn and all three courses were a fantastic combination of flavours and a feast for the eye too, with wonderful use... More

Just spent a night at the Merry Jig Inn on our way through to Melbourne. The Inn is small, quaint and comfortable. We stayed in a queen room which had a small sitting area off the bedroom - great extra space for suitcases and dressing etc... but not really suited to much else. The room and bathroom were clean, well... More

Merrijig Inn was a perfect overnight stay travelling along the Great Ocean Road. My daughter and I loved our attic bedroom and the evening meal was outstanding both in quality and reasonable price. Would also make a perfect weekend or midweek retreat. A stone's throw from the moored boats and a relaxing walk to Griffiths island. Old style charm brilliantly... More

We wanted to stay somewhere other than a motel again on our Great Ocean Road trip and came across the Merrijig. We had the attic room, yes it was small but very comfortable. All the staff we encountered were lovely and our breakfast was superb. The Inn is charming with lots of character and as the weather was good we... More

Booked online having absolutely no idea where or what we were getting ourselves into. Had asked for an attic room, but they were booked out, thank goodness because we got room 4. Separate bedroom, lounge, bathroom and entrance. Was like having our own little cottage! Had dinner in the restaurant that night and OMG...what a taste sensation...if we'd left our... More

Recently, my family had a reunion and made the long but pleasant journey from Melbourne down to Port Fairy.........just to have dinner at the Merrijig Inn. I had risen early and departed Brisbane at dawn so my trip was even longer. But it was all worth it........... As there were 12 of us. We were given a room to ourselves... More

Stayed one night in an attic room. Delightful cottage feel. Lovely bed, cute attic windows opening out to the partial river view. Garden pleasant, breakfast room overlooks the garden. Breakfast substancial, plenty of cereal, toast (bread made on the premises), fruits and home made conserves, one cooked choice which was delicious - oven roasted mushroom omelette the morning we were...
