We arrived at this sumptuously furnished hotel and were welcomed by warm wafting smells of freshly baked bread. We ascended a great staircase to our room overlooking a picturesque boat-filled harbor on the Moyne River. Breakfast was exceptional. There was French press coffee, tea, fresh fruit, braised pears, cereal and yogurt. This was followed by a cooked-to-order entrée with of... More

Although advertised as a waterfront hotel our room was out the back and little different from an average motel room. A pleasant breakfast but at $300 a night it was not what the advertising led us to expect.

Welcoming, attentive to service, always ensured we had what we required, even changing rooms after heavy storms first night. River views very impressive, need better weather to fully enjoy - next time. Breakfast different ! very enjoyable, complimentary tea and coffee with homemade shortbread during the day. Good access to town, with fullest range of facilities. Would recommend if in... More

Delightful B&B in wonderful old building beside the water. V good rooms. Nice cooked breakfast. Not staffed after 5.30pm, not really a boutique hotel, but v nice all the same. 4-5 stars as a B&B; 3 stars as a boutique hotel.

Oscar's is really a top flight bed and breakfast rather than a 'boutique hotel' but none the worse for that. Very comfortable rooms, good breakfast options in pleasant riverside room with verandah. Very well-located for town and seaside walking. Helpful staff (e.g. to book a restaurant) present through office hours. No lift but very steep stairs to first floor room... More

Wonderful, and slightly grand yet very welcoming, this hotel gave us exactly the relaxed and luxurious break we were looking for. Enormous room with a large bathroom including a double shower, river views, and a super comfortable bed. The breakfasts were as good as any we would have paid for at a local coffee shop (better probably), and the daily... More

As the old saying goes . . . you get what you pay for. This place isn't the cheapest place in town but it must be one of the best. Just think up the superlatives and they are bound to apply to this place. For a start, it's in a great location - right on the river and within easy... More

As part of an extensive adventure in over 6 weeks of discovering Australia we had 10 nights driving The Great Ocean Road and staying at Oscars was by far the best accomodation on that part of the trip... We did try for at least 3 nights but not surprisingly they get booked up 2 years in advance !! The French... More

Fantastic, picturesque setting. Lovely, comfortable rooms. Big shower with Molton Brown products. Fantastic breakfast overlooking the river. Not cheap, but so worth it to stay in this amazing, character building!

What an amazing house - very "Homes and Gardens" situated right on the river waterfront, and within easy walk of main town. Enormous bedroom, and huge bathroom with double shower, furnished to a very high standard. Beautiful lounge downstairs, with gas fire, coffee table books, comfy sofas and help yourself coffees/teas and crumbly shortbread. Also an outside veranda on the... More
