We spent a night at this delightful riverfront hotel on a trip around Victoria. The hotel overlooks the river with its sailing boats, moored in the front of the hotel and has direct access to the riverfront walk way. The hotel is a true boutique style hotel, large comfortable lounge area, dining area overlooking the river and bedrooms that are very spacious and... More

We booked a suite with a partial river view. The room was huge and had a lovely view looking up the river. The hotel was within a short walk from lots of lovely shops and restaurants plus Griffiths Island walk and the beautiful surf beach. Lovely breakfast served daily. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Cannot rate Oscars highly enough. We think we had the best room overlooking the river. We were told when we booked that we had a large room with a great view but a small bathroom. Yes the bathroom is small but you don't spend your time sitting in the bathroom!! Loved the breakfast which is included in the room rate.... More

Stopped here for two nights, had a beautiful, large room overlooking the river. The public rooms were also large, beautifully furnished and comfortable. The breakfast was great, different from the norm and tea and coffee was available in the dinning room, but not in the bedrooms, which we would have liked. Area was lovely, with walks to Griffen Island and... More

The room was beautifully appointed with a large, very comfortable bed, comfy settee and huge shower/bathroom. The breakfast was 'different' with interesting items available. We found the lack of tea making facilities in the room rather strange and that 'all day tea and coffee making ' didn't start until 11.00.I really like a cup of tea when I wake up!... More

Just a family of two but we had a beautiful room and sitting room in this wonderful hotel. Staff really friendly, welcoming & helpful. Great breakfast. Not a river view but spent time in the lovely garden and on the veranda, drinking coffee, relaxing and watching the boats in the marina. Can't rate Oscars highly enough. Wished we could have... More

I would agree with most of the comments form "notacouchpotato" as I suspect we may have had the same room. This was the most expensive place we stayed in as we toured Australia but it was worth it and I would have loved to spend more than the one night we had booked. It is a little quirky but very... We could only stay for 2 nights but thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house. We were greeted by Kirstyn who was extremely pleasant and showed us to our waterfront room after explaining the breakfast procedures, including a lesson in the use of the individual teapots! Our room was well appointed and spacious with a large bathroom. Breakfasts were... More

My husband and I stayed at Oscars in the premium room which was very large and spacious. It had a lovely bathroom with a great shower and excellent amenities. Kirstyn booked us in and was extremely helpful. She's very charming and a great credit to Oscars. The owner was there but kept himself to himself! Our only gripes would be... More

Oscars was lovely; the setting is beautiful, the accommodation spacious and very clean, great filling breakfast, and friendly and helpful staff. Ideal base for exploring the area, and as a stop on the Great Ocean road. Wish we had stayed longer. Brilliant.
