Accommodation was lovely, clean and even jacuzzi bath! Views out across the fields are amazing, and so peaceful ....no traffic noise. Food was gorgeous and served by delightful hostess Diana and staff ....nothing was too much trouble. Only problem...we only had 1 night stay! Will def go back to re-charge our batteries.

My wife and I stayed here on a Secret Escapes deal for one night costing £144 for the two of us. This included a glass of Prosecco on arrival, a gorgeous cream tea which included the best scones we have ever tasted and a two course dinner plus full English breakfast. Now that’s what I call value for money. The... More

Stayed in the Oates room which has a great jacuzzi bath, and touches like books themed on Scotts antarctic expedition for example. Food was superb - service excellent. A real treat in the morning was the smoked Haddock which was simply fantastic. Our second visit and we will come back as soon as we can !

We stayed one night in the John Constable room, lovely views, well appointed with a four poster bed. The accommodation is only about four years old and it shows. The staff were very accommodating and the food was excellent. Would stay there again.

Arrived late due to very bad traffic to a very warm welcome and had the most fabulous meal, the chef even stayed late to accommodate us. Not slept like this since being in the Maldives HIGHLY recommended. Parking great and lovely breakfast also very nice location and really relaxing.

What a find. We spent on night at the Pheasant and loved everything about the place. Our room Samuel Coultard was on the first floor and although not large had everything you wanted. Large comfy bed with soft linen, tea a coffee making facilities with a large range of teas and coffee and freshly baked cookies. A fridge with complimentary... More

Beautiful, peaceful setting - early morning birdsong was the only sound to disturb j(or rather enhance the feeling of tranquility. Room was excellent standard with tea and coffee provided. Good choice of food and very well prepared - we all ate different dishes and were delighted with them. Breakfast was superb and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts.... More

We stayed overnight for a friends wedding in nearby Hedingham and arrived to be greeted by Diana with a glass of Proseco! The rooms are fine, not quite 'luxurious', but very comfortable. But what made the stay enjoyable was the warm service by Diana, her hard working husband James (who cooked a lovely dinner and a marvellous hearty breakfast) and... More

Diane and James are amazing! Diane is so hospitable and great at front of house whilst James is a truly wonderfully talented chef. What a great team they make and what a fantastic business they have. Will be going back for dinner (and hopefully a stay) at the earliest opportunity!

Having read previous reviews before we booked to stay last week I feel I can hardly add anything different as all the superlatives have already been used. It is a rural gem because it is so quiet, we were not disturbed by traffic or anything else so had a good night's sleep. Rakhel was very welcoming and the glass of... More
