I booked a deal through secret escapes that included a glass of prosecco on arrival, a cream tea, a suite, a three course dinner and breakfast the next morning. We were looked after incredibly well, the room was beautiful down to the last detail - we had an amazing jacuzzi bath and there were lovely cookies with our tea and... More

My girlfriend and I recently spent a night at the Coach House at The Pheasant after making a booking through Secret Escapes. We stayed in the Captain Oates Suite and we certainly were not disappointed. The room was beautifully presented, very spacious and there was great attention to detail with special little touches such as home made cookies and locally... More

Given a very warm welcome by Diana. Room was excellent. We paid a very small supplement to stay in the suite which was well worth it. Very large room and good size wardrobe room and good size bathroom. We had dinner in the evening which was great. We asked for small changes to the advertised menu and they couldn't have... More

Two days exploring the local countryside and two nights staying at the fantastic Pheasant. Wonderful menu of delicious, imaginative food using lots of home grown and local produce. Thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts and interesting tasty dinners.... Lobster terraine, tempura prawns, stuffed hearts and braised ox cheek to name a few. Our suite the Captain Oates Room was luxurious from the... More

We were greeted by very friendly staff & a complimentary glass of Prosecco before being shown to our room which was tastefully decorated, with a large comfy 4 poster bed, which overlooked miles of open countryside. The fresh milk in the mini fridge & home made cookies on the tea tray were a lovely touch. We had a dinner bed... More

More than adequate space for two people with a comfortable bed and bathroom. Nice touch is the historical aspect of one of Gestingthorpe's most famous sons - even reflected in the colours of his regiment in the soft furnishings. Great views across the countryside.

We had just one night at The Pheasant. Our room was beautifully decorated, spacious and had everything that we wanted, even a small jug of milk in the fridge for our tea/coffee and two home made biscuits. The bathroom was spacious with twin hand basins and a large shower, but no bath. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The... More

Enjoyed a short break here in a sunny October. Room nice with touches such as fresh milk and complimentary water and home-made biscuits each day. Disappointed that the bathroom was a shower room only although very nice. Breakfast was very good, quality and service couldn't be faulted. Dinner was good but choice was limited. Beautiful view from window each morning.
