As other reviewers have said, this place has fantastic views. Otherwise not really much in its favour. It's very tired looking although clean with spacious rooms. Bed was much too soft - almost got seasick in the night! There was a balcony which would have been nice to sit on but this was impossible as the people in the next... More

My wife's parents have been coming here for years and it was with some anticipation that we booked for a last minute weekend away. Andrew on the desk was extremely accommodating ensuring that the booking process was seamless. As already mentioned, the views are really the main selling point of this property, in all honesty it is breathtaking. Wine and... More

We spent 1 night at the motel while driving along the Great Ocean Road. The rooms are clean and comfortable and have everything you could possibly need for a short stay. They are a bit dated but the bathroom has been updated and there is a spectacular view. Hopefully the next task for upgrading will be to add WIFI. With... More

This property has one of the best views in Lorne, high up on a hill and overlooking the bay. It has nice sitting room with chairs and a fireplace. The hallways all have wooden walls like the inside of a sauna, which is nicer than the drab interiors most motels have. Much like other motels, the rooms have basic amenities... More

Stayed over the Australia Day weekend in a 1 bedroom apartment. Not brand new, however everything was clean and the worked. The place is priced ok...not cheap, not expensive. The views of the landscape and ocean are fantastic to wake up to. Owners are very friendly and helpful. I'd go back.

We stayed in Lorne on a trip thru from Mount Gambier when we were travelling the Great Ocean Road. It was a last minute booking as we were unable to get accommodation in Apollo Bay. It was $225 for one night, no breakfast or air conditioning for a queen and single bed but we paid it as everything else was... More

Very clean, nice rooms with great balcony looking over the sea. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very good location- just up the hill from a pier and good restaurant, and a short and scenic walk along the water to town with shops, restaurants, and a good swimming beach. We would stay here again.

I've been going to the Ocean Lodge Motel on and off for the past 25 years. Moreso when the kids were little. This is a great family friendly, wallet friendly destination in Lorne. Family owned and run. BBQ's, lovely gardens, a tennis court and spectacular views make for a great budget family weekend away. One is not reliant on the... More

Rooms were older & had a bad odour. Fridge smelt really bad. Wasn't in a great location but the view was spectacular. The gardens were beautiful and had masses of lovely roses. White cockatoos & kookaburras came into the yard. Owners were very welcoming and friendly.

Would've given it 5 starts if the price was closer (lower) to the slightly dated accommodation. That said, nice and clean, friendly staff and a good place for a few days stay. We'd recommend this motel without hesitation as its close to all amenities and the views are great.
