We were impressed on a short stay by the attention to detail at Glen Isla house. The location and garden are wonderful. Spent a couple of happy and peaceful hours reading in the garden and time slowed right down. What more can you ask?

Thanks for your review... Indeed 'attention to detail' is one of our absolutes here at Glen Isla for the past 11 years we've been welcoming guests. The authentic heritage gardens date back to c1870 and provide peace and tranquility in a very private setting - ideal for 'slowing down' and unwinding in our experience also. All of this 100 metres... More

We went to Glen Isla House earlier this week on an excursion, I personally found this accommodation very beautiful and relaxing, the garden itself was amazing and the rooms were clean and one of a kind, will definately be staying one day!

We booked for one night and stayed for 2, and if flight options had allowed, would have extended beyond. Fabulous hosts, lovely rooms close to a great beach, breakfast includes great fruit, cereals and a professionally cooked to order option.

Thanks for taking the time to prepare a review, and thanks so much for your kind words. We certainly aim to offer far more than just a room and breakfast, and it appears we hit the mark for you and your family during your stay. Glad you liked our now somewhat legendary chef's 'special to order breakfast' in the elegant... More

My husband and I recently moved to Australia from the US. After reading about Phillip Island and the little penguins in a number of the guide books we were given before our move, we decided to go the first chance we got. Unfortunately, the first free weekend we had, Glen Isla house was still closed for the winter, so we... More

Thanks for taking the time to write a review of Glen Isla and indeed thanks for the kind words.. Yes, we close from around mid-May until end August every year for our 'winter recess', which enables us to undertake maintenance on our historic property, annual deep cleaning etc and of course we take a break to re-charge our own 'batteries'... We were lucky to get a last minute booking at Glen Isla for the Australia Day long weekend. After a month straight without a single day off it was exactly what I needed. The owners are lovely and make you feel right at home during your stay. The gardens are beautiful and quiet and the perfect place to relax with... More

We have stayed here twice and love it. The owners really know how to make guests welcome , comfortable and looked after. Nothing is to much trouble. A short step to the beach, easily accessible, beautiful grounds, well appointed rooms and a great breakfast. Nice bottle of French sparkling Burgundy to enjoy in our room to. At busy times many... Thanks Grant for taking the time to write a great review of your stays at Glen Isla. Now in our 11th year of operation here at Glen Isla, we've never sought to take advantage of guests over busy periods or major events at the circuit by ramping up tariffs/prices as many other properties seem to do. In fact we have... More

We stayed two nights at Glen Isla and it was a pleasure. We were greated by Ian on arrival, Ian took time to answer any questions, point out recommended restaurants and make sure we had booked to see the fairy penguins. Our room felt very spacious, the addition of the cloak room to store bags, clutter and a decent sized... More

Thanks for your kind words and review! It seems you've summed up the sort of expediences many of our guests have during their stay at Glen Isla. We thought a lot about the design of our classic rooms after 40+ years of our own international travel experiences, and its pleasing to receive the sort of considered positive feedback such as... Our stay at Glen Isla House was wonderful. The self contained units have everything you could wish for. The grounds were beautiful with mature gardens. Most of all, the owners went out of their way to make our stay very enjoyable. They were informative and truly gracious hosts. Lovely accommodation and room along with "HUGE" breakfast! Thanks indeed for your kind words about Glen Isla, and of course our breakfast service here. Many guests comment about our breakfast (here on Tripadvisor and in the guestbook at Glen Isla). We have recently returned from a stay at Glen Isla House on Phillip Island and cannot speak highly enough of both the accommodation and the hosts. Thanks for taking the time to complete a review and comment on your stay at Glen Isla... Since opening in 2003, we've never had mini-bars with ridiculously priced beverages, but rather made the refrigerators available for guests to utilise! Likewise we've never had 'hidden extras' or items with 'price tags' in our rooms.... That said we do offer a small... More

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and wanted to spend a night in Cowes as he wanted to go go-kart racing on Phillip Island and I just wanted to visit somewhere different. Thanks indeed for taking the time to provide a review and feedback, and congratulations on your wedding anniversary. The heritage gardens here at Glen Isla date back to the late 1800's, being one of the original properties on Phillip Island, and they do offer a wonderfully calm and serene garden environment.
