We stayed here back in Feb for one night of our 3 week Australian holiday when we were travelling the Great Ocean Road and found it met all our needs perfectly. It was clean, comfortable and the owners were very welcoming upon check-in. It was mid-week so relatively quiet, but we could have happily stayed longer and it seemed to... More

Really nice clean hostel. With a big clean kitchen supplied with everything you need to cook a great meal. The staff is super friendly and funny aswell The only cons has been our bed. Which made a lot of noise when moving during your sleep. This is by far the nicest hostel I've ever been.

The place is beautiful, environment-friendly, amazing terrace... I found that the only problem is the checking hours.... you cannot make the check-in at 5pm... it has no sense for me... but maybe it is an Australian custom! I still do not understand very much! If you arrive in the morning like me, you are essentially out. Moreover, the check-out is... More

We got a private double room and it was very nice. Had a nice little balcony. The whole backpackers was a eco-friendly place which we thought was really cool. It was clean, very modern with 2 kitchens/living areas and separate TV room. The host was very friendly and the price was very good for what you receive. Would absolutely go... More

I had been travelling for a while when I came here and after the cramped hostels in the city, Apollo Bay was a wonderful find. The communal areas are huge, with great big comfy sofas and fire places- great to chill out with a book. The kitchens are clean and well equipped, they are large enough to cook without tripping... Cost us 109 australian dollars plus 4 for loan of two towels for very basic double bed and shared washrooms. Tonight we are in much more comfortable and spacious and cleaner motel for 105 dollars. Yes the communal areas were comfortable and attractive but the beds were not particularly comfortable and the washrooms not very clean (much depends on the... More

I stayed here on my final night in Australia and was pleasantly surprised with how wonderful the hostel is. The lounge and kitchen areas are comfy, clean and spacious. They offer free parking which is ideal as most people stay here when they are driving the great ocean road. Unfortunately, they didn't have two beds left in a mixed dorm... More

This hostel is very upmarket. Massive kitchens, lovely lounges and amazing staff made me feel welcome straight away. Great location in centre of Apollo Bay, only 5mins from the beach. Free parking. I stayed in a double room, it was well priced and very comfortable. Only point, there is no aircon...it was 42c so a little warm (the fan in... More

Fantastic ecofriendly building design looking like it was build yesterday. That shows the care and involvement of the staff mantaining it, as well as welcoming guests and making their stay as relaxing as possible. Fantastic views from sundeck terrace, kitchen and living room, you just have the impression of being in the nature. It is a very special place to... More

We only stayed one night at this place, but enough to see what it was like. As many of the YHAs, this place seems at first impression quite sterile, but in return it gives you clean rooms and kitchen! This one on top has a superb lounge room with fireplace, perfect hideaway on a rainy evening!!!
