My group stayed here for a night, and all of them agreed that this was an excellent choice. Much of the feedback praised the hostel, and my personal interaction with the resident managers was excellent, highlighting how good this place is. I can only recommend it strongly for travellers and groups alike. Location is perfect, one block back from the... More

What a nice welcoming place. Great clean hostel and new facilities make it way above the average. Suitable for those who wouldn't normally stay at hostels. Fantastic kitchen and lounge facilities. Recommended.

We stayed here 7 years ago, and it is still a great hostel for my family (w/10 and 11 year olds) The Family Room is roomy and the beds are comfortable. We like the different areas for lounging, eating and watching TV! Hopefully, our children will stay there when they are older traveling around Australia! The staff are always friendly!

We spent one night passing through on the Great Ocean Road and had a good all-round experience. Having pre-booked a single room we were able to move in earlier than 5pm which meant we could drop our gear and go for a walk. The hostel has a number of different spaces including a comfortable lounge with open fire. There is... More

I spent two nights here while attempting to do the Great Ocean Road and I was very pleasantly surprised. I'd read the good reviews before booking but I've been tripped up by good reviews in the past and places not living up to expectations - not so this time. The hostel is very well set out, with the rooms down... More

I have been in Australia for several months now and through my travels have stayed at approx 8 different hostels in various parts of Australia. This past week I stayed at the Apollo Bay YHA with my boyfriend and another friend. Two of us are YHA members. This hostel is new (opened in 2005) and it certainly shows. The kitchen... More

we stopped here for one night while on a road trip of the Great Ocean Road. This was the perfect choice for us in the end, with fantastic facilities and a really great set up. With a central location and friendly hosts, we highly recommend staying here if you are tripping along the coast with mates.

This hostel was fantastic! we arrived when the desk was closed but managed to get into our room and checked in with a very friendly guy when the desk opened again. The facilities were great (as would be expected for such a new hostel) and the kitchen and lounges were large and furnished really well. We drank wine on the... More

Sad I only had one night here. The owners were absolutely lovely, giving us a discount due to low season. The hostel is really well designed, such as a communal area without a TV, large kitchen, coat hangers and a fold down table :) as there are only two hostels in Apollo bay this is really good value for money... My wife and I love travelling 4 hours to this Apollo Bay Eco YHA. We discovered it many years ago when we were looking for a romantic getaway. What we discovered was that Apollo Bay was for us, a much nicer place to stay by the beach instead of the over crowded tourist towns of Lorne and Torquay. The Eco... More
