We stayed three nights this week (booked for two but decided straight away to stay another night!) We loved everything about Captains, Kirstin is a great host and couldn't have done more to make us welcome! The room was lovely, spotlessly clean, with quality bed linen and really comfortable. The balcony is spacious and sunny and the view towards the... More

My husband and I stayed here in a 'Bridge Room' - 'North West' for a weekend getaway. The room was very clean and comfortable and the layout well thought out! Breakfast is simple, but fresh and adequate - nespresso machines a great idea! We had a cooked breakfast included in our rate which consisted of; Eggs and bacon on toast... More

Clean and friendly accommodation, Room was lovely with nice big modern bathroom. Very comfy beds. The breakfast was tasty but basic - essentially cereal, toast and coffee. Would have expected a bit more to be included for the price.

Stayed here one night to prolong our stay in Apollo Bay. The pics on the homepage are very promising. The welcome was great and so was the lounge room. Our room however, spacious and well decorated, the balcony amazing, was a bit of a let down. Stains on the carpet, marks on the walls, windows looked shabby. It has all... More

I stayed with my wife (we booked through wotif) for two nights and can say this place is fantastic. We stayed in the bridge room, and it was clean, spacious and although it did not have views of the beach, it had a beautiful view of the hills. The room also had an excellent tv, austar, and nice heating. The... More

We used this hotel for one night on our journey along the Great Ocean Road. We stayed in a Bridge Room on the first floor of the main building. A nice, comfortable room, with a lovely bathroom. Was undecided whether to give this a 3 or 4 star rating, as the breakfast service was not brilliant. Set a street back... More

Where to start on this amazing place?!?!? We stayed in the Captain's Cottage which was cozy, romantic topped with a lovely gas open fire just to add to the coziness of this wonderful room :) Lovely service from the staff, delicious breakfast which is included in your stay, and it's only 100-150m to the water where you have a range... As per all my reviews if WiFi is a chargable service then the rating reflects this, and in this case WiFi is chargable. The Hotel very pleasant and clean, all facilities, aimed at the tourers, one or two night stays. Rooms were a good size, certainly not cramped and were clean. The breakfasts were good with a choice of cerials... More

Our trip was just for the Great Ocean Road drive and this was our stopover stay. Our travel agent in Germany recommended it--and we know why. We got the large room on the south side with a large garden terrace. If the weather had been nicer, we'd have used this a few more hours, but our drive was off season,... More

The room was nice, clean and modern - everything to be expected. We had a comfortable stay. They have a few harsh rules, such as if you check out after 10am there will be a $70 per hour charge. The complimentary breakfast goes from 8-9am so if you are not an early riser you pretty much miss the boat. Our... More

Thanks for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. But only if you told us the right room when you rang about your hair dryer. You said you were in Captains Cottage, when in fact it was the Cottage. We always carry spare Electrical equipment. Happy Travelling. Wayne More
