The captain's at the bay has so impressed me, that I am writing my first review. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and clean, the on-suite bathrooms have a great sense of style and space (I stayed in a Terrace room) and the breakfasts are great. I wish all hotels were like this. The hotel is... more

It is the perfect spot to be alone with one another. The room we stayed at was cozy, warm and located right by the sea. The staff was friendly. There are really good restaurants nearby too, so in general a perfect place to stay for a few nights especially for two lovers ;) more

Stayed one night in the Captain’s Loft, and it was wonderful! Clean, spacious, cozy, and quiet. Was like staying in our own little house. Beds and linens were soft, slept like a rock! Breakfast was also nice with a large selection. Would stay again! more

If you can get a Bridge Room and get a good rate (we travelled off season) then this is a great spot and well recommended. We just rocked up and asked for the rate.. quoted higher than I had seen on wot if so asked Belinda for the wot if rate and she gave it. Breakfast was extra - it... more

We stayed 2 nights in the bridge room and it was just the perfect romantic getaway while we toured the Great Ocean Road. Captains is in a great location one street back from the beach so late afternoon we would stroll along the beach before retreating from the elements of the winter to soak in the huge stand alone bath.... more

We had booked ahead but still apprehensive of our selection. The rooms were such a delight, clean ,spacious and the claw foot bath a surprise extra. we stayed in the Terrace rooms. We met the owner who offered us videos and breakfast if required and was most pleasant. Would definately recommend this accomodation and have no hestitation of returning there... more

My husband and I travelled the Great Ocean Road in June 2009, hadn't booked any accommodation so on arrival at Apollo Bay we found Captain's at the Bay. What a delightful place. Without hesitation the owner offered a substantial discount as we were staying for 2 nights, and also a discounted full breakfast. We were given the bridge room, lovely... more

My hubbi and I stayed for one night and wished we had more time just to stay and rest at this great accomodation. Stayed in the 'Bridge' room which is upstairs above reception. It was absolutely beautiful, elegant, spotlessly clean, modern and comfy with fluffy doonah and lots of pillows, nice sheridan linen etc. Huge window/sliding doors looking out towards... more

As a first over night stay on the Great Ocean Road this small boutique hotel was just the ticket. Very clean and roomy, great breakfast (they onyl serve breakfast here) and great staff (very helpful). The boutique hotel is set back off the main road so quiet - Apollo Bay is quiet anyway. Would recommend. more

Stayed 2 nights on a 2 week trip from Sydney to Adelaide taking in the Gt Ocean Rd. Found the accommodation to be adequate - good size room with easy chairs, coffee table and tv. En-suite was large with wet-room style shower. Outside patio backing on to quite a busy road. Described as being a 'luxury' class establishment, not sure... more
