My wife and I, her two sisters and her daughter spent a week travelling around Tasmania by car in May.We stayed at several places during the trip and were on our way back to Davenport to catch the Spirit of Tasmania back to Melbourne. Imagine our surprise When we pulled up at Blakes Manor for our last and most memorable... More

Stayed in June and the owners are extremely welcoming.. Kinda made you feel at home.. Very clean and historically beautiful.. Personnel touches like fresh baked bread as well as all the other goodies were a treat.. Will definitely return some time.

Rhet and Dina made us very welcome from our arrival. We were delighted to hear about the history of the property and feel we experienced it thanks to the beautiful selection of furniture and decorations in the room. An ideal suite for a family with 2 children. Breakfast provisions, an fresh loaf of bread, a spread of goodies to welcome... More

Rhett and Dina were great hosts with personal touch. We were given a beautiful room and free-upgraded, knowing that we're travelling with our 2 teenagers. Hotel is one of oldest building in town and beautifully well-preserved. Full of antiques nicely decorated inside our room. We"re welcomed with hot home-made bread and port wine in cold evening, as an extra surprise.... More

Spent 2 nights here in April as a family of 4. Everything everyone has said about the treats and friendly proprietors is spot on. The fresh baked scones with jam and cream was a welcome surprise after a day out. The dinner recommendation was perfect. The free wifi kept the kids happy. We had plenty of room to spread out... I'm so glad I decided to take a different path and try Blake's B&B instead of the generic hotel experience. The owners really know what they are doing here. The welcome is very friendly (child friendly also) and every detail has been thought of to provide a very comfortable stay, right down to make up wipes in the bathroom. Very... More

We booked 3 nights over the internet. We found Quamby Cottage was a tacked on fibro shack to the main manor. Nothing "Luxury accomodation" about it. The kitchen table and chairs and 2 seater couch would have been more at home in a shack in the Central Highlands. Rooms were very dusty and filled with cheap and tacky furniture and... More

This was the first of a number of B & B's we stayed at in Tassie. Stayed in the old convent suite, and the description on their website described it to a tee. Did need assistance from Rhett to fix the tv, but apart from that all good. One regret - forgot to take up their offer to pick some... More

Fantastic, what a hidden gem. We found this place quite by accident and boy were we lucky. Beautifully appointed rooms in the style and decor of the buildings age. Complimentary cheese platter and port on arrival and fresh eggs and bacon and cereal and juice for breakfast. Fresh home baked bread supplied. The hosts Rhett and Dina are lovely and... More
