We stayed a night in Gannon's Rest as part of a treat weekend. Wow! How cool is it to stay in an historic property so beautifully restored and decorated. All the extras were yummy, beds extra comfy, and the hosts very welcoming and helpful. A nice quiet location and well worth the money and effort. Deloraine is a lovely spot... More

Pros: Decadent heritage living. Homely living with little extras at every turn. Warm bread on arrival. Breakfast supplies for the morning. Chocolate on the beds. Port, cheese, biscuits, apple trees on the front fence. Warm, knowledgeable operators. Good heating in all rooms. Cons: Views of the range are oversold a little. You are in a residential street (although quite segregated... More

Directions to Blake’s Manor were concise: “Find us behind Woolworths”. Blake's is an imposing stone building closely bordering the road. Another building is set closely behind it. There were no screens or screen doors. We made the mistake of leaving our door open while unloading suitcases in the late afternoon sun. Large noisy flies flocked in, probably attracted by the... We stayed at Blakes Manor in Deloraine for only 2 nights - not nearly enough! We were warmly welcomed on arrival by our hosts Rhett & Dina and taken to the georgian suite, which was gorgeous. Rhett gave us a tour with details of the history of the Manor. The suite was beautifully decorated, and we spent a while enjoying... More

We stayed 1 night at Blake`s Manor on the last night of our trip. Mainly to be close to Devonport to catch the Spirit of Tasmania back to Melbourne. The location is perfect for this about 30 mins drive to Devonport, but Blake`s Manor and Deloraine have so much more to offer. We travelled with a large family including kids and... More

We stayed here for one night on our way to Launceston from Cradle Mountain. What a fantastic place it is that Rhett & Dina have here and the service they provide is fantastic. We stayed in the Convent Room which is beautiful. The extras that Rhett & Dina include from the platter of local cheeses, port, fudge and bacon and... More

We stayed here 17-19 Oct 2014. Rhett and Dina were terrific hosts and made our time at Blake's Manor so memorable, from the historical story of our Gannon's Rest Suite to the freshly made loaf of bread (and the scones, and the muffins, and the chocolates, and the port...). The suite was lovely, comfortable and clean, great value for money... More

I have stayed here twice now & cannot fault the comfort, quality, decor, hosts & location. The extra treats provided mean it is a no diet zone so resistance is useless, from the warm home-cooked loaf of bread to the Tasmanian fudge & cheeses, eggs & bacon. Each room is filled with antiques and paintings from a bygone era &... More

Blakes Manor in Deloraine captures much that is special in Tasmania. While the rooms are decorated to remind the guest of this history of this part of the island, the hospitality is warm, treats of food are delicious and many made on the premises, and access to technology is completely modern and convenient. This is a good choice if you... More

Dina and Rhett certainly know how to make you feel welcome. I haven't felt so pampered since my grandmother used to come and visit when I was a child. We have really been able to relax here and enjoy the calmer pace of a bygone era. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the tasty treats are delicious and our hosts helpful... More
