I'm so glad I decided to take a different path and try Blake's B&B instead of the generic hotel experience. The owners really know what they are doing here. The welcome is very friendly (child friendly also) and every detail has been thought of to provide a very comfortable stay, right down to make up wipes in the bathroom. Very... More

We booked 3 nights over the internet. We found Quamby Cottage was a tacked on fibro shack to the main manor. Nothing "Luxury accomodation" about it. The kitchen table and chairs and 2 seater couch would have been more at home in a shack in the Central Highlands. Rooms were very dusty and filled with cheap and tacky furniture and... More

This was the first of a number of B & B's we stayed at in Tassie. Stayed in the old convent suite, and the description on their website described it to a tee. Did need assistance from Rhett to fix the tv, but apart from that all good. One regret - forgot to take up their offer to pick some... More

Fantastic, what a hidden gem. We found this place quite by accident and boy were we lucky. Beautifully appointed rooms in the style and decor of the buildings age. Complimentary cheese platter and port on arrival and fresh eggs and bacon and cereal and juice for breakfast. Fresh home baked bread supplied. The hosts Rhett and Dina are lovely and... More

We spent 4 nights in Blakes Mews Suite over Christmas and enjoyed every minute. Rhett & Dina made us feel very welcome as if we were old friends. The room had a wonderful ambience and Rhett had gone to great lengths to give that authentic feel with modern convenience and great attention to detail. Dina spoilt us with home made... More

A group of 12 of us touring Tasmania rented out the whole place bar one room. We we greeted warmly. Lots of extra treats. The rooms were pretty and very useable. We availed ourselves of the BBQ one evening when we didn't feel like going out. Nice setting in garden to enjoy the food. Walking distance to a supermarket and... More

We spent three very agreeable nights at Quamby Cottage, the extension to Blakes Manor. We enjoyed our stay tremendously. Our hosts Rhett and Dina were very welcoming and helpful suggesting a nice walk along the river -just down the road and indicated some of the attractions of the surroundings. Rhett also took the time to explain the history of the... More

We were actually planning to use Mole Creek as our base to visit Cradle Mountain but the place we had read about in Lonely Planet was fully booked. Deloraine was second choice but is a lovely little town and only about 20mins east of Mole Creek, and just over 90mins from the Cradle Mountain carpark. Blakes Manor turned out to... More

I wish I had read the previous comment about Quamby cottage before booking this room, and I would have to agree, this room was terrible. We stayed with our bub recently, and I am sorry to say that I've stayed in backpacker accommodation with better bathrooms and kitchens. Upon arrival into the room we were greeted with blow flies and... More
