My six girlfriends and I spent a magical long weekend at Forest Walks Lodge celebrating 10 years since completing our HSC. 'The Lodge' was perfect. Quiet, peaceful, amazing food and beautiful surrounds. Rosemary and Sean where wonderful hosts and great fun to chat to about the history of Tasmania and the amazing World Heritage Environment around the lodge. I would... More

We stayed for 3 nights in December during a 1 week trip to Tasmania. Sean and Rosemary are wonderful hosts, and we greatly enjoyed our walks with Sean, in no small part due to Sean's sharing his knowledge about the surrounding ecosystem. Overall, everything about the place is fabulous: the deluxe room; the food; the atmosphere. We recommend it highly.

We have stayed at this lodge twice and enjoyed the experience immensely on both occasions. The remoteness of the location, although not far from Deloraine, allows you to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. There are several short bush walks around the lodge and longer walks within easy driving distance. The lodge is eco-friendly and because of the location there... More

These guys really dressed up for dinner. We still have a pink silk bow tie to prove it. If you too would like a special dinner let us know. Bring some friends for a special weekend like bobandannie. More

We were heading to Forest Walks Lodge which I had booked due to the many good reviews on Trip advisor. We drove in late one afternoon. There had been a large storm the night before and the unsealed road, (which was way off the beaten track), was littered with branches and leaves. Our petrol was low, there was no mobile... More

I organised a stay here as part of birthday trip to Tasmania for my adult son due to his passion for sustainable living and environmental conservation. We were not disappointed as Sean and Rosemary are dedicated to the 'eco' philosophy and in fact have a vast amount of experiences living and working 'green'. The lodge itself is very comfortable, clean... More

Dear reader I am a fan of walking and have done both the walks listed above but nothing compares to the fantastic verging on magical rainforest walk Sean took us on. I have done many walks and this was the best by far. Truly peaceful and in awe of the wonders of the rainforest. I am a 5 star type... More

This remotely located property is truly setup as an eco friendly location. With it's rustic feel and appearance, you can't help but relax as soon as you enter. Don't let the tag "eco" fool you, Sean and Rosemary make you feel very welcome and put on brilliant meals that would easily rival some of the city restaurants. Fitness Centre? What... More

The term "eco" gets bandied around a lot, but in my experience it's a weasel word that rarely lives up to the hype. I was so pleased to find that Forest Walks Lodge is the real deal. The hosts Sean and Rosemary are veterans of the conservation movement who have obviously poured their collective heart and soul into creating the... More

A truly wonderful place to stay that lives up to the excellent reputation given to it by the preceding reviews. The setting is gorgeous and peaceful and the lodge interacts well and with respect for the surrounding wilderness. Sean and Rosemary are delightful and Sean is a magician in the kitchen!!! My partner and I are vegan and Sean was... More

What a great find Forest Walks Lodge is. Chose it after reading other reviews on Trip Advisor and it didn't disappoint! No television, no phones....just quietness and calmness...just what we wanted! Rosemary and Sean are great hosts....we did the dinner, bed and breakfast package and it was great! Local venison, veges from the garden and in the morning eggs from... More
