We chose this place as they advertise that a "guided Penguin tour" is included. We actually drove out of our way to Bicheno especially to give our son this experience and the booking was made through a travel agent in Queensland. We were all none the wiser about what "guided" tour meant obviously. So this is what we got. Young... More

the resort is tired and worn out looking. Needs a coat of paint and some tidying up. you can tell that they are trying, but they are almost trying too hard - there is a games room, there is a DVD room, a fireplace/living room, a half done up playground outside - would be much better if they stopped casting... We chose this place on a whim. Driving past took a chance. Big mistake. Huge. As other guests have mentioned we were told if we wanted dinner we would need to let her know now. We advised we would like to have dinner only to be told that we couldn't as they had no food. We should probably go to... More

We had intended to only stay at the resort for one night, however when we got to our room it was so beautiful and the staff so friendly we decided to stay for two nights. The room was modern and well decorated and there were provisions for a continental breakfast in our room. The Manager Noel and his wife Mel... More

Overall, our stay here was OK. As others have noted, the resort is tired and worn out looking. Needs a coat of paint and some tidying up. However, what really surprised me was the dinner service. Upon checking in, the manager told us to call him the next morning if we wanted dinner that night. "I'll get some fresh fish... More

We stayed there for two nights. The place is quite comfortable, good for families to stay. They also have lots of little animals on site which my daughter loves. Basic breakfast is included, and you can pay $10 to have a plate of freshly cooked bacon and egg with tomato. Good one!

We had booked & pre-paid a one night stay at Diamond Island Resort in one of Tassie's most beautiful sea-side towns, Bicheno. Checking in was a bit of a hit-n-miss affair, no-one was around to greet us, and after calling out & ringing the bell for a while, we went looking for someone to help us check in. Not the... More

Excellent location, got to see the penguins which was a thrill but well overpriced for the experience it offerred. The whole place just seemed a little tired and run down. Rooms were clean but in need of some TLC, Staff were friendly. We didn't get a chance at the restaurant as there was a function on the night we stayed.... More

True surprise package- beautiful location and rolling grounds down to the beach. Viewing platform for nightly penguin march- the true stars of the show! also the management are eco-sensitive and even growing further native garden areas for the penguins to roost at night. Good big rooms with all you need in the kitchen, lovely aspect from the main restaurant. we... More

Perhaps not quite there yet, but this "resort" is a diamond in the rough. The owners are working tirelessly to bring the standard up and their friendliness and enthusiasm is to be admired. The location and outlook are very pretty and being right on the beach, its a beautiful walk along the sand to Diamond Island, with lovely views of... More
