We also were enticed by the resort style description offered by travel brochures. Whilst a beautiful location the room was average and housekeeping had certainly let it down further. No teatowels, no soap, no washing up liquid. The breakfast provided for 4 was austere even by convict standards. A half cooked loaf of bread, 600ml of milk and one type... more

The Diamond Island Resort is located in a beautiful position just minutes to a superb beach. The accommodation, however, leaves a lot to be desired and was not worth the $200+ per night we paid - I guess we were paying extra for the view!! The bed was in an attic that had the creakiest floor boards I''ve ever heard,... more

We were generally pretty happy with our stay. We stayed in a 2 room apartment with our baby. It was quite comfortable and fairly clean. The location was extremely nice, with a beautiful view over Diamond Island. We didn't see any penguins but the view itself was fantastic. We had dinner at the restaurant on site, which had very nice... more

Looking at the reviews of the Diamond Island "Resort" here, I now wish I had researched this place prior to booking, but a friend recommended it and the website makes it look great. The main problem was in the room type - I thought I had booked a 2 bedroom apartment as we were 2 couples but it was not... more

The hotel has a breadmaker in the rooms so you come in to the smell of fresh bread. However, ours was undercooked and there is no bag or container to save it in so they may as well not have bothered. There was a kitchenette. The room was decent and overlooked a nice lawn and the sea. You walk down... more

We booked this resort after seeing the slick presentation on internet.Requested double bedroom rang to confirm but when we arrived they tried to give us a single bedroom in an attic! When queried they stated that this is what we had booked ,luckily I had documentation to prove otherwise. It turned out that they had overbooked which apparently is not an isolated... more

Even tho me and my family stayed at the resort only one night, it was a great night! I loved the accommodation because it had everything and it was so close to the beach even tho it wasnt really the weather to go swimming...But what i realy enjoyed was the Penguin Tour that night =) We learnt so much about... more

I apologise for taking so long to write this review. I stayed at Diamond Island with a friend in Nov 2006. We loved it - it was our favourite place that we stayed at on our trip to Tasmania. The location is great, and of course you can't beat having the penguin tour at the bottom of the garden. The... more

Seduced by the slick website I booked a 2 night stay in the Easter period, Yes the scenery is beautiful, but beware of added extras on your account when checking out! We dined at the resort's (or should I say motel's) restaurant the night prior to leaving and charged our meal to our room account. When we checked out the... more
