A fantastic place in every respect to take to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. From the minute we arrived and we're greeted by our hosts we felt welcome and at home. Once we entered the Sandpiper cottage and explored we knew our stay would be memorable and we'd want to come back. From the cozy fireplace, to the secluded... More

My hubby and I stayed in the Sandpiper cottage for two nights and absolutely enjoyed it! The cottage was clean, warm and cosy and the bed was very comfy. There are four cottages in all but you wouldn't even know as they are all quite private and being on acreage there is no traffic noise. The cottage also included a... More

This was originally a second choice, but no regrets. The cottage was clean, spacious, warm and well equipped. A very comfortable bed and the privacy made it a lovely, pleasant stay. The owner we met was friendly and helpful and a pleasant person with which to converse. Never before have we been provided with such a generous breakfast basket. Next... More

Huge cottages, very comfy beds, immaculately clean, very nice people. You can hear the beach at night - the whole place is right on the beach, less than 2 minute walk from your cottage. The cottages themselves are very comfortable from the couch to the bar stools to the bed! every little thing has been looked after - biscuits for... More

Our friend highly recommended that we made a stop at this lovely place and we were glad we did! We got the Beachcomber cabin and upon arrival I was surprised to find that the main reception was empty. On the glass door, there was a note addressed to me with specific instructions to say that the key was inside the... More

Our cottage was called Beachcomber, two bedrooms with wood lined interior. It was the most idyllic place to stay, log fire, a beautifully comfortable king size bed and a kitchen with every possible amenity for DIY meals. You don't need to bring oil, paper towels, foil, bake paper, glad wrap, salt and pepper etc and if you forget your wine... More

Amazing location and sooo relaxing. We had the whole beach to ourselves, felt like the only ones there but fully booked. Beach House is wonderful, spacious and really comfy. Great place to watch both the sun & moon rise. Can't wait to get back.

We've stayed in at least five different places in Bicheno, as regular visitors over the years, and Sandpiper certainly rates as our best accommodation experience in Bicheno to date. The cottage itself is a stone's throw from the beautiful Denison beach (it's almost in the dunes), and is very well appointed. The provisions on arrival were above and beyond what... More

We spent our last 2 nights in Tassie in a Sandpiper Cottage and it was a fabulous end to a wonderful 10 day holiday. Kyle and Tony are helpful and friendly. Our cottage had 2 spacious bedrooms and an open plan living room/kitchen. The bathroom is cosy and there is a BBQ on the deck. The view from all cottage... More

Our cottage had a view of the ocean. It was a short walk to a beautiful beach where we had several long and enjoyable walks. The cottage was modern clean and comfortable. The best bed you could ask for and just a short drive to Bicheno. Our hosts were helpful and gave several wonderful recommendations for attractions and restaurants.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Sandpiper Ocean Cottages are perfectly located just north of Bicheno on the East Coast of Tasmania. Set on 4 acres of natural coastal gardens, each cottage is private and spacious. A short stroll through the dunes and you can walk barefoot for miles on pristine white sand, fish from the beach or swim safely. The only sounds you'll hear are the waves, the birds and the squeak of the sand as you walk. The three 2 bedroom cottages sleep 5 people comfortably and have full laundry and kitchen facilities. They are spacious and modern inside, with large sunny verandas. A cosy log fire and the sounds of the sea make for restful nights. Our new 1 bedroom cottage, Ocean View, is just next to Sandpiper Cottage and is also fully self contained. This one is just for couples - with a king bed, all the mod cons and a view of the ocean. For those wanting a bit more space & privacy, we also manage the property adjoining Sandpiper. The Beach House. A stunning 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house with beautiful ocean views on 40 acres with its own beach access. It sleeps up to 8 people. We’re close to the Bicheno Golf Club and Douglas Apsley National Park and half an hour away from Freycinet National Park and the iconic Wineglass Bay. The Bay of Fires is only an hour to the north. And being a fishing village, we have some of the best seafood on offer here in Bicheno.Sandpiper Ocean Cottages is the perfect place to relax, unwind and be inspired. ... more   less
