I had a lovely stay at this place...surprisingly despite of one BIG glitch. I only needed a place to sleep for one night so it didn't make much sense to me to stay in more expensive hotels. So I booked a female only shared room at this backpacker which was confirmed by the owner, Annabelle. I specifically asked her for... More

Thanks for the updated review (I am sure you left us a similar, not so lengthy review in December?) Just to be clear on a couple of points, our hostel is treated for bed bugs annually and we are bed bug free. I think you will find that most accommodation places have strict check-out times for obvious reasons particularly in... More

My sister and I loved this little backpackers joint. It was warm, clean, and conveniently located near Freycinet National Park. There were a couple good places to eat nearby and the sunset was spectacular. The rooms looked like they had been recently renovated and the shared bathroom was a little older but clean. There were a few cons. Bring your... More

Hello and thanks for the review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Our budget twin option does include one room that is required to use the bathroom in an adjacent building a few metres away. This is clearly outlined on our website & we do remind customers upon check in so there are no surprises. The lower tariff for... More

Pretty standard hostel, adequate kitchen facilities, clean rooms the wifi was truly terrible so if you need a speedy connection, hang out outside the tourist information office and use theirs... toilets were usually out of toilet paper which is a pain in the middle of the night, showers were either freezing or burning. Well located for Freycinet.

Hi there and thanks for the review. Bicheno is not yet on the National Broadband Network which can make our free Wi-Fi service a little slow at peak times, something which is out of our control. Toilets in the bunkhouse are checked at 7pm each night to ensure there is enough toilet paper for the evening. We don't want anyone... More

We staying in the ensuite room which was separated from the main backpackers area. It was clean and comfortable and very close to the water and shops. The walls a thin and could hear others snoring and alarms going off. Easy 30min drive down to Freycinet National Park. We did have dinner at the Chinese restaurant next to the IGA... More

We stayed in a double room with ensuite in January 2015. The hostel is well located, spread over 2 sites (close together). It's fairly basic as you'd expect from a backpackers, but amenities are clean and you have access to all that you need. It's a great stepping stone to local attractions and the hostel itself has a lovely vibe.... More

I stayed here in November 2014, a solo female 24yo. traveller. I stayed in a four person dorm and found the beds very comfortable. You get your own little curtain to get your own space which is nice. There is a share kitchen which makes it nice and easy to meet people. The bathrooms were clean with plenty of hot... More

Before I start to write, kind reminder to those who are visiting Bicheno: make sure u make bookings ahead before you actually visit Bicheno because some of the hostels are good and popular and to avoid any disappointment upon arrival, make bookings before travelling. (I was in Bicheno in Feb 2014 and I did not make bookings ahead, that was... More

Hi, thanks for the review & we are glad you enjoyed your stay. You are right, it is best to book ahead as our peak season can only be described as manic! We are in fact on several booking channels but you will find the best rates when booked directly with us. Perhaps we will welcome you back again some... More

This is set in a great location just minutes walk from the shops and restaurants. The rooms were basic but very comfy and extremely quiet despite the number of people staying. The shower facilities were great and free parking and wifi a massive plus!

We stayed here as a group on a under down under tour. Lovely mural painting on building, worth a visit to see it, it's cute. Check in lady is grumpy and serious with rules but keeps to herself in main reception. Little daughter helps out and is funny and cute. There are twin rooms. 4 showers and 3 toilets for... More
