We stayed in one of the cabins that was just fine for our needs. It is close to Flinders Chase NP and its attractions. Then there is the on-site wildlife. From your cabin door you'll see wallabies and kangaroos, galahs and Cape Barren geese. Lots of ducks on the dam. An echidna scratching in some undergrowth. A koala scampering across... More

Just the type of accommodation we prefer: clean, good equiped cabins, lots of space for one larger and one small family (in Banksia cabin). Camp owners are very nice, helpful and friendly. We found this caravan park to be a perfect "base camp" for Kangaroo Island research - for all who love nature parks and wildlife. Great! family from Slovenia

We really enjoyed our stay at Western KI, the Chalets were great clean and tidy and the Camp Kitchen was one of the best we have used during a 5 week 10,000km trip through WA NT and SA. Highly recommended, and within driving range of all the Western attractions.

Our family of four stayed at the Western KI Caravan Park in August as part of a three-week vacation and it was an excellent choice! We stayed in the modern Banksia cabin, which had a full refrigerator/freezer and stove and plenty of room in the two bedrooms and living room. Everything was in very good shape. The caravan park is... More

We came to Kangaroo Island to see wildlife so this place was absolutely perfect!! All through or trip to Australia we would stop each time we saw a kangaroo in the distance. Well, here, as we're pulling into the reception we saw about 20 kangaroos and wallabies. We had one of the deluxe cabins looking onto a field where 'roos... More

Being the middle of winter we virtually had this place to ourselves. Make sure you stock up with provisions though as there is no groceries past Pardana. We spotted some koalas, heaps of Tamar Wallabies and roos. This is very convenient to Flinders Chase NP

We only stayed one night in Hakea cabin, which is pretty small, but very cute. Full kitchen to make dinner, make sure you bring food no restaurants around here for dinner. We took rice, pasta and veggies so they would not go bad. Located very close to Flinders chase national park so easy access to get there in AM. We... More

We camped here for 1 night, but wished we could stay longer. Great wildlife all around, Koala in the tree next to the tent. Great location for exploring Flinders Chase National Park. Excellent facilities, eg camp kitchen, tourist info.

We stayed for three nights in a two bedroom cabin. Pros: - Location ideal for access to Western end of Kangaroo Island - Lovely setting with lots of wildlife - Includes a couple of nice walks where we saw wallabies, koalas and kangaroos - the cabin was really well fitted out with everything we needed in the kitchen - cabin... Stayed for 7 nights on K.I in a tent at 3 different caravan parks, and this was our favorite. We felt like we were camping right in the heart of a wildlife park. Our tent was pitched overlooking a large grassy area and by dusk was covered by wallabies and roos. Possums and wallabies came right up to our anex... More
