Not just a standard pub meal! Quality food at a great price. Mark the bartender is just an absolute riot. And the friendly people will give the warm and fuzzies. Also as another reviewer mentioned, have a sneaky gaze at the blonde bombshell in the restaurant! Wowsers!

My parents took their friends here for lunch on my suggestion and came away very embarrassed. They had to wait for over an hour for an open burger and chips. The chip were cold in the middle along with the meat patty. They sent them back only have the same items out back in front of them a few minutes... More

The room was clean and tidy with modern touches. The shared bathrooms were clean and we never had to wait for a shower. Breakfast is basic but we chose to eat out so it didn't worry us. The pub is reasonably quiet so we never had an issue with noise. Very reasonably priced, and within waking distance to central Newcastle.... More

I stayed here on the 2nd of May 2014 based on the then 4 star (self rated) rating, it's now been changed by Wotif to 3 star based on my complaints and the complete lack of room inclusions and standards needed for a 4 star rating. My estimate would be closer to 2 - 2.5 star. Hands down the worst... More

Two story building, Pub downstairs renovated and clean, meals reasonably priced but boutique beer overpriced. Rooms upstairs clean but tired, no airconditioning, shared bathroom facilities basic. On main road from industrial area and noisy. No other food or drink establishment's close by.

A friend and I went for dinner on a Tuesday night. We had 3 courses (which we never do but thought why not on this occasion), entree tasting plate which was amazing, mains we both had chicken which was delicious and desert was amazing. We had decided to go there because we heard there was a new head chef and... More

My partner and I stayed here on a Saturday night and had a very positive experience. We chose the Albion primarily for its craft beer selection, and we weren't disappointed - they had a great range of craft beers on tap with a focus on brews from Newcastle and the surrounding area, so we got to try a few we... Had heard rave reviews so tried dinner one Friday night. We were walk-ins and were still able to get a table quite easily. Great selection of beers and staff very helpful. Tried the charcuterie tasting plate and loved it. I wish it was larger or that I didn't have to share any with my partner.. The menu definitely gives off... More

Had been organised and called to find out about vegetarian options. Was emailled with a few options but on the night was told only one was available, so that was my only choice for dinner ie no choice. Really disappointing as I had emailled to avoid this type of predicament. Everyone else had good meals, but not for the vegetarians.... More

We didn't stay, just had dinner and a couple of drinks. Really good food and an excellent selection of beers. The staff were friendly and helpful. I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews here, it's not fair to complain about having to pay a little more for beers that aren't the same old same old. This place is trying... More

The Albion Hotel is located conveniently to the CBD of Newcastle, harbourside on Hannell Street in Wickham oposite the Newcastle Marina. The Hotel was built in 1922, has a long and colourful history and has recently been extensively renovated. The Albion is now a stylish, comfortable and affordable hotel that boasts one of Australia's best & largest craft beer selections with over 200 to choose from plus a constant rotation of our 11 beer taps and a fabulous beer inspired menu available in the multi award winning Bistro Albion open 7 days a week for lunch & dinner. The refurbishment took six months to complete with the interior designed to be welcoming, warm and modern while being sympathetic to the character of the era in which the hotel was built. The deep reds, chocolates and timber combined with soft colourful furnishings provide an excellent environment in which to enjoy a fabulous menu and a fine selection of wines and refreshments. The operators of the Albion husband & wife team Corey & Kristy Crooks have carefully chosen friendly, knowledgable & enthusiastic staff whom provide professional, efficient service. We welcome local and new customers alike and aim to please everyone. We have full foxtel facilites and all sporting events, tournaments, races and games are treated as a celebration with screening on our spectacular big screen TV’s. The Menu is designed to accommodate all, for example you can enjoy a dozen oysters with a flute of hunter sparkling wine from Petterson's in the Lounge, a Wagyu Beef Burger with a Murray's Craft beer in the front bar or a full three course meal in the more formal Bistro Albion.
