This B and B is very tired and needs a major overhaul. Food very disappointing only cereals and toast, nothing hot. The rooms are not cleaned or serviced during the day; there is little soap, no shampoo, towels not changed and no spare toilet paper. Don't be fooled by the online photos. The real challenge is to find the light... More

Full of rustic charm nicely located in the countryside. From the outside the bed and breakfast looks ideal for a quiet retreat. The inside, although comfortable, does not live up to the promise of the outside. Well overdue for the inside is a fresh paint job and thorough cleaning. Although not extensive, there were signs of peeling paint, cobwebs and... More

A character home that has some charm. However inside the paint was peeling in parts and some mould was clearly visible in the shower. Food disappointing - first morning just basic cereal but was promised a cooked meal for the second day. That cooked breakfast consisted of one strip of bacon and two poached eggs. Nothing else. The owner was... More

You get what you pay for I realise, but this place really was run down. Needs to be sold and done up. Junk shop kitsch everywhere, although some of the decor retained from the nunnery was interesting and appropriate. Unprofessional ad hoc patching up here and there. Good mattress but very hard pillow kept me uncomfortable. Evidence of meanness in... More

We booked the Velvet room ( or whatever it was) thinking it would be very romantic for the price but we were disappointed. While the B&B was neat and clean it had a lack of charm and romance. It was very cold and miserable weather but the house was warm, with the modern heating, however, it would have been more... More

I read the reviews of Leura House, but still went ahead with the booking. This place is enchanting in an oldy worldy way. For me the experience was like stepping back in time. Something reminiscent of sharing an old boarding house with like-minded strangers, creaky floors and old paintings and artefacts scattered around. We had the the mid-week special. For... More

A delightful old convent which could be a delightful place to stay. Instead, the owner's mean attitude takes away from the historic feel of the place. No log fire, poor breakfast, lots of rules written everywhere. This may have suited the nuns, but if you're looking for a warm, welcoming, generous B & B in the Mountains, look elswhere!

Grabbed the mid-week special (good value) and were allocated a room at the rear of Leura House. The room, Number 7, overlooked the garden and there was only a little noise from the Great Western Highway and railway line. Nothing to worry about. The room was adequately furnished with a very comfortable bed and plenty of drawer space. It was... More

We were lucky to get a midweek special in early May - so for the price, I was pleasantly surprised by the super-comfy queen bed, large room, spotless bathroom, and views over the garden and the Blue Mountains. We loved the Victorian feel of the building, and the comfortable lounge area, and the internet worked well. The only negatives were... More

We paid top dollars as it was Easter weekend (I do understand that this is going to be more expensive. Bed very hard. Decor very sad and dated. I requested gluten free bread for breakfast, but they had neglected to provide any saying that the shops had been shut the day before so they hadn't purchased any. The breakfast was... More
