Suitably priced old Mountains guesthouse. Room was comfortable for one person and, although I was warned I might get some traffic noise, it was pleasantly quiet. Library lovely, but gas fire place could do with quieter fan and the couches could be more comfortable with some cushions. Breakfast ok for the price....Staff very polite and accomodating. I would stay again.

Upon arriving at the Metropole Guesthouse I was pleasantly surprised how old school and grand it was. Check in was easy and the parking off the street was incredibly handy as I went up for Winter Magic! Pros; Location is incredibly central to Katoomba, 1 minute walk to station station, clean and warm (very important during Winter). Cons; not much... More

The location of the Metropole is to die for, you cannot go wrong! It is clean and comfortable and the service is amazing. Do yourself a favour, go and get some wine and chill in the library for the afternoon.

Across street from train station, 10 - 15 min walk to Blue Mountains Scenic World, nice and clean environment, near shopping and restaurants and friendly staff. Pretty perfect. Just one thing I didn't like was wi if being weak upstairs. Try to get a room downstairs if you can.

What a great review! Thanks Ravtri! I am very pleased to let you know that since your stay in December we have updated a few things, the best is our wifi! We now have a much stronger signal and have ensured the network is accessible from all of the public spaces on all levels. The wifi is also accessible in... More

We arrived at the hotel at 11.30 am but couldn't check in till 2 pm. But we did get the room key as we told the receptionist that we be back late as the counter closed by 6 pm. Very near to the train station and hop on hop off bus and all the cafes. Room small but is sufficient... More

The Metropole Guest House is a lovely piece of old world charm located right in the middle of Katoomba, just across from the train station. The common areas are beautifully maintained and full of character, perfect for a Mountains getaway. The upstairs lounge and games rooms are a great spot to relax with a book or for a game of... Hi Garneresque! Thanks very much for your detailed and lovely review and helpful feedback! Its great to hear that you enjoyed your time with us and took full advantage of the family room. The lack of power points is a challenge that we unfortunately have to face due to the age of the building. However the good news is that... More

This is a small guest house opposite the Katoomba Train Station. Very convenient with rows of shops around the corner. The rooms are small, but since most of the day we are out, just come back for shower and sleep is sufficient. The heater is comfortable. Though not much facility, but my son loves the library most. The old fashion... More

Thank you very much for your review, the library is my favourite room also :) Its perfect for relaxing on the chesterfield couches in front of the fire and maybe even playing a game of chess. Hopefully we will see you and your Son again if you come back to Katoomba for another visit! Regards, Shelley More

Stayed here with my husband and my parents. They all loved it. The staff (especially at the reception) is very friendly and helpful. As soon as I checked in she mentioned about the library and the game room and the lounges. It was helpful otherwise we wouldn't have found them during our short stay. It wasn't too expensive and the... More

The Metrepole is a gem, can't believe I haven't stayed here before. The building is really historical and charming. The rooms are great with a comfy bed and a little 2 seater sofa to chill out on. 5 mins walk max from the station. $15 for the cooked buffet breakfast was great value. I was booked for just one night... More

Thanks so much Camn for your lovely feedback! I was so glad that we could convince you to stay another night after your trip to Scenic World. Better to rest up and relax than make the trip back when tired. We are all looking forward to having you back again the next time you are in the Mountains. Thanks again,... More
