We spent 3 nights at The Metropole Guesthouse and reviewers need to remember that it is a guesthouse! It is conveniently located near Katoomba Station with a short walk to the main street and the wonderful Cultural Centre. The room (# 4) was large, clean and the bed was comfortable. The ensuite was modern and there was no problem with... More

One of the best accommodation I've had in Australia so far. Close to restaurants and cafes, friendly staff, clean room with more space than we needed, mini bar and some snacks. The building itself carry a lot of history, amazing place! Worths to pay the extra for the breakfast, specially if you are planning to do some hiking in the... More

Bought a Scoopon for my date and I. Two nights and had to pay nearly 75% to upgrade to bed that would fit us both, less then impressed. Hot breakfast was standard plate for everyone but good portions. Bed, room, and bathroom were as expected. Nothing great but clean and tidy. Hot water took forever to come on but thats... More

Pretty decent hotel to stay. I found the location of the hotel very convenient as one could reach the railway station easily. Rooms are comfortable and pleasant. The front desk service is good and the management is very receptive to the special requests. Nice hotel to spend 2-3 nights at a reasonable price.

I booked one night at Metropole Guest House through booking.com, paid AUD60 for a single room with ensuite bathroom. My booking doesn’t come with breakfast if I would like to, I’ll need to pay AUD15 for set breakfast. Wifi is AUD5 per stay but you need go to the cozy/reading area for wifi connection. The guest house is very near... More

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel for three days recently,3-6th February the accommodation was excellent for four friends staying together. The room was well serviced each day. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast and dinner thoroughly enjoyable, with excellent table service. The location second to none for people arriving by train. The station is very close,... More

What a charming vintage style hotel. Feels like you stepped back in time. Friendly staff and quiet guests. Only real problem is its right next to the train station and the trains were still going till 12am and then again at 4am. They were quite loud so might be a problem for light sleepers. Games room had pool and table... More

The hotel was in a great location with excellent access to the train station and walks around Katoomba. Staff were nice and polite, the place was neat and mostly clean - it was a bit dated but had a library and reading rooms with LOTS of character. However, the sheets and curtains had some odd (grease?) stains on them and... More
