Looking for a quiet and economically priced guest house with lots of character. This is it. Plus, the hosts are very friendly. Delicious and comprehensive continental breakfast. And free wifi. Thoroughly recommended.

I so pleased to discover Kurrara. Beautiful restoration of an original Katoomba guest house. Impeccably clean and in great condition (nothing looks tired, which is often the risk with old houses full of antiques). I was travelling alone and stayed in one of the downstairs room with spa and open fire place which was very cosy and warm for winter.... More

this is a lovely place. stayed two nights over a weekend. upon arrival Ian was very helpful and showed us to our rooms. The rooms are very quaint and full of old fashioned charm, antique dressing tables and four poster beds. complimentary port as well. Despite being old, there was excellent heating and a corner spa in the bathroom. Breakfast... More

Kurrara feels like a home - the dimensions of the house and room decoration enhance the feeling. I am a bookaholic and I love seeing bookcases filled with up-to-date and interesting books (not the space-filling exercise that you find in some places!). The house is well heated against the Blue Mountains winter. All in all - comfortable, well-maintained, welcoming with... More

We spent only one night at Kurrara, but everything was lovely. The rooms are well decorated and spotlessly clean. The feel of the property is very welcoming and warm, that is due to the hosts with what they have provided at the guest house. TV room with a good supply of DVDS and a decanter of port if you wish... I booked this last minute (the afternoon we stayed) as a surprise night away, we stayed in the magnolia room and it was absolutely amazing for a romantic country weekend away from the four post bed, the huge spa bath and private access to the gardens made it the perfect choice. We stayed on a cold winters night in the... More

We had a most enjoyable long weekend at Kurrara - made most welcome by Ian and his wife Evelyn who went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable. We stayed in the Magnolia Room which was lovely - warm and homely with many little touches to enhance our stay. We particularly loved the lounge at night... More

We booked this last minute and only Blue bell room was available - small but beautifully formed. Kurrara is amazing - stepping back in time - true hospitality - comfortable bedrooms and delightful communal surroundings - help yourself to tea, cake , port - incredible vfm. Great breakfast - thank you Iain for huge warm croissants and everything else. Would... More

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and with my husband being into antiques, this place was right up his alley. Old world charm, tastefully decorated and the complimentary port in one of the lounge rooms was very enjoyable :) We stayed in The Lily Room which was very comfortable. Would recommend if you are after... More

I was travelling alone and needed somewhere cosy. Kurrara was the place! I stayed in the Lavender room and loved it! Prior to my stay, I emailed them to ask many questions about the guest house, tours around Blue Mountains etc, and they always take the time to give me really long and informative reply! Could tell they were not... More
