A wonderful, relaxing stay in a charming old guesthouse, good service and very clean ,with lots of nice treats and a excellent breakfast. Our host did a marvellous job and would thoroughly recommend a stay at this historic house in a lovely quiet area of Katoomba. Walking distance to restaurants and a safe area to park your car.

A lovely old house with plenty of character but unfortunately our stay was ruined by the owner Iain in the morning when we went down for breakfast, which begins at 8am. We opened the door to the breakfast room at 8.10 (was unlocked), and went to make a cup of tea. The labret came out from the kitchen area and... More

In the three years that we have owned and operated Kurrara Historic Guest House, we have been extremely fortunate to welcome travellers from Australia and all over the world. Many of our lovely guests have become part of the Kurrara family and revisit us regularly. We strive to create a relaxed atmosphere where people can make themselves at home, and... More

Decided to take the girlfriend away for the weekend and found this place on Tripadvisor. The two night stay was wonderful. A lot of nice little touches made it feel homely and welcoming such as the large DVD and book library, free wifi, decent breakfast, incredibly comfortable bed and a very friendly host. Thanks to Stephanie for helping arrange the... More

We just had one night at Kurrara. It was great. The room was spotless, the bathroom was great, the decor was beautiful and the staff were so friendly. Loved the relaxed homely atmosphere. Nice personal touches. Brekkie was good but would have liked a nice hot vegetarian option (if I really had to be picky). We will definitely stay there... More

My girlfriend and I found the deluxe room with spa to be the perfect way to end a day in the blue mountains. The bed, decorations and facilities were all great and the staff service was excellent! A huge DVD collection and plenty of delicious teas and coffees made the bad weather that night quite alright! I believe a stay... More

The house takes you back in time to the early 1900's but has all the facilities of a modern day guest house, including en-suites and good internet facilities. The rooms are very charming and comfortable, each one decorated differently, some with 4 poster beds. The continental breakfasts are outstanding with a very good choice of food and refreshments. Afternoon tea... More

The room is quite small but full of character. I love the room and the bathroom. We had to park in the side street but it wasn't a problem for us. It's overall a very pleasant stay, the house is clean, tidy and well maintained. Close to attractions and town centre, yet located in a very quiet street. The only... More

My wife and I had a great overnight stay last week on route to a wedding in Mudgee. We had dinner at Pins on Lurline (which was recommended by Iain) which was superb. Kurrara House is a cosy and hospitable place to stay and we would recommend it for an overnighter or even an extended visit to experience all Katoomba... More

We stayed only for one night but wished it was longer! Full of atmosphere, character and charm,we were very well looked after in this grand old Guest House. Our 'Magnolia' room was clean, beautifully restored with gorgeous four poster bed, antiques, soft towels, a spa bath / shower and an annexe which housed a fridge and table and chairs. We enjoyed a... More
