We were in desperate need for a couple of nights away. So with excitement headed to Katoomba. We were greeted by a charming building with definite character and beautiful surrounds. We were excited and relaxed. However, that changed as soon as we opened the front door. The staff did not even acknowledge us as we waited to check in. We... More

Stayed here for three nights on a short break to the Blue Mountains. Had a King room on the ground floor which was fine. Breakfast in downstairs dining room was OK but choices could have been wider. Dinner wasn't served in house but no shortage of other places to dine. Drinks in- house were expensive. Older style property but ideally... More

Stayed there for a weekend away with friends. I thought the room was good value for the price. The room was warm and we had plenty of blankets. Only complaint is that the bed was not very comfortable. But otherwise we had a good stay. We went out for breakfast rather than eating in. The breakfast is $15.00 but didn't... More

We paid $200 for a Friday night stay and the room was terrible. It was small, uninviting, very basic room with a bed, small table, 2 old torn chairs, old brown furniture, stale carpet. We asked if all the rooms are the same and they said YES. For $200 a night we expect a much better room and there are... More

Stayed here on Thursday night - outside temp with wind chill factor included, about -10 degrees! Had King Deluxe which was fine. Air con worked well to keep out chill. Bathroom had no air con or fresh air so a bit stuffy. Pillows desperately need replacing. But otherwise a perfect stay. Hotel receptionist very accommodating and friendly. Good value but... More

This 4 star hotel was a pleasant surprise. Our room was cosy, warm and quiet but would have preferred to have a comfortable armchair or small sofa in the room. Would have preferred a softer queen sized bed, not 2 singles pushed together. The bathroom was excellent, with a good shower in the tub and good lighting for shaving. One... More

Night manager wanted to argue that it was working, when he finally came to the room, he acknowledged their was something wrong with no apology for his... More

Thank you for your feedback. We recall that you were booked into a Deluxe King room and we offered a complimentary upgrade to an Executive King room, and for the first time in our experience you requested to see other rooms and preferred the character of a smaller Deluxe Queen room. We were of course more than happy to honour... More

Stayed at the Palais on a Saturday night, and found everything just as we wanted. Good size rooms, clean and nicely decorated. Such a contrast to the Carrington with all the noise of a wedding until the early hours. Hear all we had was the sound of the wind, roughly resembling a freight train, and yet we had long undisturbed... More

Just last week week had an escape to Katoomba in the Blue Mountains and stay at Palais Royale which is a delightful boutique hotel with cosy rooms and ensuite plus bar fridge, tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel's proximity to the cafe and restaurant area was fantastic because we could walk. No worries about designated driver!
