We were disappointed in our stay here. We have stayed here in previous years and were expecting much more. The room was tired, small and the bathroom was not really sparkling! Common areas of hotel are Ok however the grounds were not presented that well this time. Breakfast was included but the selection and service were not to standard. Very... more

I love hotels with character, with a story to tell, but just being old isn't good enough - and I think that's where the beautiful old Hydro goes wrong. First of all it isn't a Grand Mercure anymore, but they don't make that very clear, and secondly, if there are any rooms like the ones you see in the brochure... more

We love this hotel, as it has become our base whenever we're up in the Blue Mountains. The character and uniqueness of the hotel brings us back, along with the superlative view. Rooms with a view can be quite small, but adequate as we generally don't spend a lot of time in them. The staff have always been friendly and... more

A wonderful old heritage building but...... Obviously most of the rooms are not like that pictured in the brochure or on the website! Our room I was very small but the view, if you stood in the correct place, was fantastic. Bathroom was run down and had awkward access to the shower. Lots of hot water! For some strange reason... more

I kind of had the feeling that the Hydro would be the sort of place where the service and room furnishings would not live up to the grand exterior & lobby....and I was right! The trouble started with the booking process, where they tried to charge me more than the rate on the website and I had to argue to... more

Check in was the best part after the view, My fiance and I were excited to stay at this hotel after seeing the wonderful pictures, thankfully we left our cat at home as you wouldnt want to swing it in the smallest room I have stayed in and could compare to a hotel in Hong Kong. We stayed for one... more

I stayed for one night as i got a good internet deal of $109 for the night. I stayed in a bottom level room wich was clean and tidy but very small. The King bed was 2 singles pushed together which is one of my pet hates. Bathroom was clean and tidy ok for the money. I would not spend... more

I stayed at the Hydro Majestic Hotel recently for a friend's birthday. When we arrived at the hotel after receiving wrong directions from the staff at the Cafe Bon Ton. There was no parking in the hotel area and we had to reluctantly to park the car outside. Upon arrival at the hotel we were impressed by the foyer. We... more

The Hydro Majestic is like stepping back in time. When we arrived we were thrilled with the sight of the foyer with its roaring fireplace, piano player and big comfy lounge chairs - it was very welcoming. The art deco styling of all the public areas is lovely. The breakfast room has an amazing view over the Megalong Valley. The... more

My advice would be, if you are wanting to spend a relaxing romantic weekend away in the blue mountains. Dont waste your money by staying at the Hydro Majestic hotel. We have jsut returned from a weekend away staying in a valley view room at the HMH. Now one would think that they could one-find our booking after paying more... more
