Hostel clean with lots of facilities - good kitchen, good tv/DVD room although you can't get DVDs out of reception after 10pm. Receptionists v friendly. Beds comfy. Showers bit old and leaked but bathrooms ok. Lots of floor space and storage space in dorms. Also some desks in the 6bed dorms.

We stayed at this YHA for 2 nights prior to new years eve and it was packed out! We had an ensuite double room, on the first floor and whilst the room was a decent size with okay furnishing, we were right at the top of the staircase so all traffic flowed past us. In addition, it was definitely a... More

Now that I'm in my thirties, I was feeling quite reluctant to stay at a hostel while on holiday in Australia. But I eventually caved cause I saw all the great reviews and I am so glad I did. In fact, I wish I could have stayed longer! It was such a nice hostel. I was greeted by a friendly... More

Only stayed here for one night, but was completely taken by the town and the Blue Mountains. Blue Mountains YHA was a fine place to rest your head for the night. It was very clean and quiet through the night. I wouldn't plan on sleeping in, though. I was in a street-side room and the street started getting pretty noisy... More

The rooms were big and clean. The bathrooms were spotless. Loved the showers - powerful and warm. Perfect after a long day walking through the rainforest. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only downside was the internet. The signal wasn't quite strong enough to reach the bedrooms.

3 of us friends stayed here for 1 night on our recent Australia trip - would rate it as the best hostel I've stayed in. We stayed in a 5-bed, mixed room. Rooms & hostel in general is very clean. Bathrooms were spotless (not common in hostels). Rooms have lockers for luggage. They provide magnetic, striped cards as keys -... More

We (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed there for 2 nights. We had a large family room. Everything is clean and well maintained. It is a great YHA with a very friendly night-guard. The manager at the reception was pretty stressed... However, we can recommend this place in the wonderful city of Katoomba.

We stayed here on a weekend break from Sydney, finding it both well located and appointed. Our ensuite room was on the ground level and was big enough for a short stay. Decent heating was a blessing, given the winter temperatures, and the proximity to both Aldi and the Yellow Deli was very handy. The hostel is located in a... More

The hostel is in a big old building but has up-to-date facilities. It has a garden, patio & a parking lot behind the hostel. Liz, who did our check-in, was very kind & helpful. Being a family, we had requested to be put in one dorm, in our booking. We were instead put into 3 different rooms. Liz took the... More

Staying at a YHA is almost a guarantee of excellence, and this hostel is no different. Located on the main street of Katoomba, the Blue Mountains largest town, the hostel is perfectly situated to be close to many of the area's lookout points. It's a lovely old historic building (check out the old photos on the wall in the communal... More
