Great margaritas. Good to hear a live pianist in the restaurant. Pity the fire place is a heater and not a real fire in the ?lounge room. At night I would prefer more light. A blue mountains institution.

When you are travelling on Motorcycles it can be a bit hit & miss how you are treated. The Carrington was one of the only places in Katoomba that offered undercover parking. This is important to us as have expensive bikes and don't like leaving them exposed overnight to the weather or vandals. It was a fellow named Carl who... More

This is a historic and interesting hotel. We visited Chateau Tongariro in New Zealand, which is similar in many ways, but superior. The Carrington is steeped in history, has some wonderful public rooms, a pianist, a billiards table, a library without books. All much the same as the Chateau. The service is friendly and good. It is a bit faded,... More

Stayed 5 Nights and attended a family wedding. Everything was great! We were in the economy rooms with shared Bathrooms and Toilets and were very happy with the facilities. Continental breakfast was included in the very reasonable room price. This is a lovely old hotel where our whole family felt very welcome.

I read that the Carrington was once considered one of the four finest hotels in the British Empire. It's pretty cool if you like historic places. However, if you're expecting modern conveniences, particularly in-room bathrooms, you should stay elsewhere. The Carrington has community bathrooms with shower and toilet stalls. The wifi was weak too, though the breakfast in the grand... More

I stopped into the carrington for a quiet lunch by myself. The hotel is beautiful and I ordered a glass of wine which was recommended to me by the barman and was spot on. I ordered lunch and then sat down with my laptop to do some work. I asked if I could use wifi and was told password was... More

We had 2 nights here at the end of a cruise to Australia. We had booked online direct with the hotel. On arrival we had a very friendly reception and I was advised that they would offer me a better room rate than I had booked. The hotel is wonderful, almost a work of art. Every corner and room has architectural... More

The atmosphere in this old hotel is fantastic. We stayed in a room with shared bathroom and shared toilet. This was no problem, as these facilities were very nice. The staff was extremely friendly and the area perfect! We warmly recommend this hotel.

Art Deco all Over the place! Billiard room, cocktail lounge, dining room and lots of nooks and crannies. Rooms vary but those with bathroom are a very good size with bar fridge small table and lovely bay window bench seats. Breakfast included but extra for the hot breakfast. Close to train station so you don't have to drive. Autumn is... More

Hadn't t been to Katoomba for more than 20 years. We were having a family birthday and decided to try The Carrington as members of the family remembered going there as children. Very pleasantly surprised by the appearance although parts were a bit " tired" . However service was excellent throughout the hotel in particular staff on reception were extremely... More
