This wonderful old hotel which first opened in 1882 has been lovingly restored. It is full of stained glass windows and spacious seating areas between the various wings. The tariff includes a buffet breakfast. Our mid week package also included one afternoon tea and an evening meal. We found it great value for money and thoroughly enjoyable.

This landmark hotel is situated right in the heart of a Katoomba, just steps from the railway station. It oozes olde world elegance and charm and has been well looked after. When I arrived, the welcome at the front desk was quite friendly and I was very happy with my (Colonial) room. It was a good size and comfortable. The... More

This a fantastic hotel, we had a wonderful time staying here. Fab rooms full of original features and very tastefully and sensitively renovated to a high specification. Loved the Art Deco throughout and the grand dining room is lovely. We had an amazing grand afternoon high tea. We played billiards one evening and also enjoyed excellent service at Champagne Charlie's... More

This is a magnificent building both internally and externally, but gave the impression of having seen better days. Several little things amiss counteract the stately surroundings and general air of peace and calm, and nag away like a small stone in the shoe. Evening meals during the early part of the week are available at the building next door, above... More

Have wanted to stay here for years. Spent 4 nights in a traditional room with shared bath and was quite happy although next time I think I'd opt for ensuite. Lovely old place with some beautiful architecture and fittings.

There is no quibbling that this Grand Old Lady of the Mountains comes with truck loads of history, and more recently, a brush with being moth balled, having been closed down in 1985 and not being opened again until the late 1990s. Located in the prime position on Katoomba Street, near to the railway and at the top of the... More

This hotel is very old fashioned but this is what I loved about it. Loads of character, high ceilings and big rooms with beautiful stained glass windows. The dining room reminded us of the titanic! Great continental breakfast too and within walking difference of echo point and scenic world!

This hotel in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales of Australia was built in 1880. We enjoyed our stay in a hotel which is dubbed as second only to Raffles of Singapore. The Carrington is in the Classic Victorian style but has been modernised to a very high standard and yet maintains the Victorian ambiance with dark polished woods... More

Our company recently held a Corporate Function in the Grand Dining Room at The Carrington and it was simply amazing. The old world charm afforded by this venue makes for a truly unique experience. From my initial contact with Maya and the team at The Carrington, right up to the actual event, I had the utmost professional and courteous service.... More

We had a Colonial Room and stayed here for 1 night for wedding and were not super-impressed, it was nice but not altogether that special I thought. The rooms have no sound-proofing whatsoever so we were woken up and kept awake by the first guests up, so no sleep in. The hotel is very old and would need to spend... More
