lilianfels is a good place to unwind from the busy life of sydney and if you feel exhausted from work or even home... it's english-style room that is too cozy to sleep on ... and relaxing lounge that you can have your morning tea or high tea is quite priceless... not to mention tranquil garden that you can have a... more

Very overpriced and disappointing! The service was quite friendly but rather forced. The rooms looked extremely dated and quite over-the-top - and my pillow was cheap and lumpy! I had the most appalling massage at the spa - the therapist pinched a nerve in my back and didn't even apologise! Not value for money - I'm never going back. more

We booked this hotel directly and found the booking process efficient and friendly. Unfortunately, that's where the efficiency ended. The friendliness, however, continued...gushing torrents of it in fact; wave upon wave of "thank you" and "you're welcome" and "Of course!" all delivered in a strange soothing voice. They must all have been trained by the same hospitality school. We arrived... more

We had a wonderful stay here. Very professional and efficient check-in. Shown to our room and given good overview of hotel. Very comfortable room (but a flat screen TV would have been nice) - a modern country style. Complimentary water as part of turn-down service. Given an upgrade because of my birthday even though I did not ask for it... more

My husband and I stayed here in early December 2007. I held off on writing this negative review in order to give the Orient Express group a chance to respond to my complaints - they never did. We have stayed at many top end, Relais & Chateaux, Conde Nast gold star winner type hotels and do not begrudge the rates... more

We travel to the Blue Mountains for short breaks away every so often and are pleased this time we chose Lilianfels. Definitely will be returning, there is no other option. Of course, you pay for it, but here it is worth every cent. Friendliness and sensitivity of service are above and beyond! Darley's, their signature restaurant only adds to the... more

Stayed two nights the first of which was ANZAC day therefore the hotel was very busy but hardly unexpectedly so. The welcome was excellent very professional however the room was only OK with poor soundproofing. As the hotel was purpose built only a few years ago that was suprising. The main short coming we found were the waiting staff in... more

Stayed here for 3nights on the last leg of our honeymoon. Quite a different style to hotels we would normally go for but it is really nice- in the style of a twee English guesthouse. Perfect location at 'Echo point', a few hundred yards from the '3 sisters' mountain -amazing views all day especially at sunset/rise. Beautiful area for walks/scenery.... more

My husband and I stay here regularly for short breaks in the mountains and it is always a top choice experience. The staff are all fantastic, friendly, helpful, solicitious without being overbearing. We have stayed here during every season (peak, shoulder and off peak). We prefer staying here in winter as occupancy rates are lower than summer/spring and there are... more

We visit Lilianfels at least once a year, just to get away for a couple of days. It is always just so perfect. We try and head up there mid-week, to avoid the weekend crowds, and have found this helps. During the week you can generally sit down in the lounge area without other people sitting really close by. And... more
