We stayed in Alkira Motel recently and were very grateful for the friendly, helpful staff. We checked-in late and when I rang on approach they were so good about us coming at that hour, and even went and checked the heating was on, and offered to turn on the electric blankets so the beds were warm when we arrived. Great little room I ideal for a single traveller like myself. Location is fine a short walk to Cooma pubs and restaurants. Central Heating is fantastic. Staff always happy to help. Price at $120 is a little higher than than Canberra or Bega. When spending 3 nights a week in motels price is important. Overall Alkira is a regular stay... More

Sign outside says from $90. It was explained to us by the receptionist that this was the per day single senior rate for a person staying a week. The actual double rate was $140. However with a seniors discount we eventually settled on a price of $100. Our room was small, reasonably clean but very dark with little natural light.... More

Alkira Motel is a great place to stay when visiting the snow fields. Cosy, warm & close to shops, food etc. What impressed me most is how clean Mona keeps her rooms, cleaner then most 5 star places I've stayed in around the world. The steaming hot shower was better then at home. She is lovely & helpful & we... More

This motel is a welcoming destination & well positioned to tourist attractions. Reasonable rates, very clean & very warm. Good bed & no road noise ensures a restful sleep. Only down side was the noise from the adjoining unit's bathroom sink/shower water pipes which I'm sure can be resolved when they do their next scheduled maintenance. I would stay here... More

Alkira Motel is the perfect overnight stop in Cooma. The owners are persoanable and approachable and make an effort to make the guests feel welcome. The rooms are spacious and very clean. We stayed in a twin room that consisted of a very comfortable queen bed and a single. Sleep quality is an important aspect of motel stops and this... More

We have stayed at this motel many times and we are always very happy with everything. This visit we were travelling with a group and booked 12 of the 13 rooms. The rooms are extremely clean, the beds very comfortable and the shower has lots of hot water and great water pressure. Mona, the owner, is always very accommodating of... More

I recently stayed at the Alkira for a much needed weekend break . I was surprised by the cleanliness of this motel . As for the service and friendliness of the staff was outstanding. I don't think a 5 star would get it right , as the staff at Alkira did . I would highly recommend Alkira and am sure... More

Not knowing where to stay we came upon Alkira Motel it looked welcoming and well maintained and we weren't disappointed. Thank you for your smile and chat after a days travel. Your recommendation for somewhere to get dinner was helpful and Alkira is close enough and a nice walk to the town centre, thank you, Kaye

very nice stay friendly and helpful. Didn't have a booking just drove up and got a room. Close to town an easy walk. Everything worked and the heating was really needed even in April. These rooms are really good sized clean and serviced at your convenience, no road noise that we could hear and easy to get in and out... More
