Have stayed at this hotel many times over the last few years. Very relaxed and homely with a nice breakfast and a B&B feel. Great location on the beach and walking distance to the main street of Coogee. The perfect escape within Sydney. Staff are also fantastic.

This hotel is more like a very large b n b. It was great for our needs. Free breakfast in the communal area, rooms were comfortable (although small). We didn't have a view, nor did we need one. There are a lot of stairs in this hotel, would not be suitable for mobility impaired people. Parking was a bit sketchy... More

Thank you for your review, we are glad you enjoyed your stay at The Dive! And you are right, Lucas the poodle does love to greet the guests! In regards to the car parking, yes the spots are uncovered but off street in the back courtyard directly behind the hotel. They are privately owned so the hotel does need to... More

I really liked this hotel - cool, funky, homely atmosphere and a great refurbishment of an old building. I loved the outdoor help-yourself breakfast but would have really enjoyed some gluten free cereal or bread. Well done guys.

I chose this hotel based on trip advisor reviews and am glad I did. Really friendly and helpful staff who made us feel like we were entering a home rather than a hotel. Breakfast with espresso and plunger coffee that you can help yourself to at any time. The beach is directly across the road with loads of restaurants etc... More

As others have mentioned, the best thing about this hotel is the location, which really is excellent. We stayed in Room 1, one of two rooms at the front of the property that have ocean views and we loved the view from the floor-to-ceiling windows. (This is the room in the main photo on TripAdvisor). But this room also had... More

The location is just perfect right across from Coogee beach with good bus routes to get you into the city in about half an hour. Last time I stayed they had two dogs and a cat but sadly I didn't get to meet them again but now they have the new addition to the family, Lucas a beautiful poodle who... More

Location is brilliant - right on the beach. The bed and linen was always clean and the staff very nice. That's where the good description ends. Our room bore no resemblance whatsoever to the rooms on the website. No wood floor - we had patched black carpet. No designer bathroom - very tiny toilet and shower room with the tile... More

We stayed at the Dive Hotel in Coogee for two weeks...and had the most amazing time. Our room was at the front with a view over the sea, and a small kitchenette which was very useful for making tea and coffee or something to eat (not that we ever ate in when we were there) when the kitchen wasn't open.... Lovely, small guesthouse directly opposite the beach at Coogee. Excellent location and a great place to stay. The hotel has a cold breakfast and is two doors away from the Coogee Bay pub and a street of restaurants. The hotel dog, Lucas, is an added homely touch. Possibly better for couples/ singles rather than families. Small bathroom though.

I could start and end this review with "we booked 2 nights and stayed an additional night because we loved the place so much!" Great staff, great location and excellent gourmet touches like French Press Coffee and tea service available throughout the day. Coogee Beach is delightful and the walk between it and Bondi is magical! Stay here!
